Comfortable three bedroom bungalow located in Orkney Islands complete with emus.
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely, clean and deceptively spacious for 3 of us to spend a week. E-bikes excellent. Well situated very close to one of the two shops and a 15 minute cycle to either the hotel or the pizzeria for dinner. Would recommend for small families."
"Lovely accommodation in a quiet and peaceful setting near many sites we wanted to visit in Orkney. Janet and Richard gave us a warm welcome. Their gardens are magnificent. We enjoyed our stay enormously."
"I fell in love with Orkney and it was completely unexpected. I expected to like it just fine but I truly didn't want to leave. This hotel has comfortable rooms and a delicious restaurant that capped off our days of exploring."
"A beautiful place to stay when visiting Orkney. Ideal location to get to all the sights. Accommodation was perfect and Albert and Aileen couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!"
"The sister hotel to the Shore was where we needed to check in, it is undergoing refurbishment of its facade. The Shore was clean, easy access to the city center, and meet our needs. Parking was easy and the staff went the extra mile to help us with our luggage as there is no elevator at the Shore (we knew that at the time we made our reservation)"
Mingro is a unique beachside cottage that serves as a retreat from modern life.
10/10 Excellent
"Where to begin…. Well we have already made a booking to have the privilege of staying at Mingro for two weeks next year! A well cared for cosy cottage in a fabulous location with direct access to the beautiful Rothiesholm beach. We loved the tranquil, peaceful setting and certainly didn’t miss WiFi or TV with so much beautiful scenery on the doorstep. We found everyone on the island very friendly and welcoming, always a smile and cheery wave. Researching family history we found the Heritage Centre to be a great resource and also learned so much chatting to some of the long established residents, hearing great tales of Stronsay in past times. We left Mingro feeling we had only touched the surface of all there is to explore and although Stronsay is not the easiest destination to get to it is well worth the effort."
