The staff were uninformed about everything, no one could understand English. For a property that caters for an international fair they are still in the last century. I was given all the wrong information about buses to and from the fair on the last day and could have missed my flight if I had not acted swiftly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel must have been fancy at one point in history considering the location and the exterior of the hotel, however the rooms are now quite run down. There are signs of water damage on the wall, the ceiling and the carpet near the balcony. There is infestation of cockroaches and there was even a giant spider one night (almost the size of a tarantula) near the curtain. Breakfast included is okay (not a buffet but they will bring the 4 items that you order from a list). Wifi is iffy.
Firstly a big thank you for the honesty of the staff from the cleaner upwards I had checked out but had left my watch in the room when I realised rang hotels.com and they contacted the hotel who told them the watch was waiting for me.
The hotel is a little dated but condition is good the only downside is the breakfast which needs more western food to e addded
Would I stay again yes

광저우 타워가 가깝고 주변에 공원이 잘 조성되어 좋았으나 호텔내에 냄새가 좀 심하더라구요~ 그냥 보통입니다.

Grand entrance
A pretty grand looking hotel. Was suprised how quiet it was despite it being the Canton Fair season. Rates are fairly reasonable. Rooms are decent. Nothing fancy. Purely utilitarian. The restaurant on level 2 made up for all the shortcomings. Food was excellent.

Guangzhou Hotel Review
Whilst the hotel is older it has stacks of character and the staff were very friendly.
We were also give an upgrade on arrival. We were in Guangzhou for the fair and the hotel was relatively close.
I would definitely stay here again.
I check into hotel at 10pm,they told me can u stay somewhere else saying no room available.
I was very angry and demand to see their manager, they found a poor and smelly room for me.
Next day they changed my room, Expedia please take this hotel out, otherwise you are going to lose loyal customer like me.
the hotel is old and it seems the owner has forget the hotel nice building from outside but old inside need renovation bad cleaning you can see on the roof of the room hanging some dirt, some of the lamps are burned and not changed, balcony door only can open by hotel staff, the TV is old (none LCD), generally it seems it was luxury hotel 20 years ago and the owner still at think that, nothing has been done in this hotel, never book it again
The building is falling apart. Literally a ruined of a used to be great hotel.
At breakfast they ran out of bread, egg and bacon @9:00am due to an unexpected number of guests !!!!! (Less than 20)
Towels were so used that you could see through. The safe box, was portable and reachable!!! When the lock failed, the lady who made up our room had a key to open it!!! And then she grab the safe out and replace it with a good one!
This part was the best: I called the front desk. She was speaking mandarin, so I asked, "Do You SPEAK English?" Her answer was "NO" followed by hang up.
When we arrived not a single English speaking person was around. The whole lobby had 1 person present. It felt like a ghost town. Air conditioner was poor, no wifi in the room.
Just a terrible hotel
Bonjour,
7 night Business trip. Nice hotel with good restaurant and pleasant waitresses. Front desk staff were useless though. No English speakers. They used Google translate but were not able to help with anything. WIFI was terrible and air con did not work well in room. I even had my Chinese translator with me at times and she was not able to convince them to do anything.
It took over one hour to check in as they could not find my prepaid booking (yes I paid €700 one month earlier). I had to give them 5000RNB deposit on check in (about €750) - but I got this back after check out.
Nice hotel overall but let down on the detail. And I paid €100 per night.
the location of this hotel is very good, very near the Guangzhou Tower. Besides this, nothing satisfy me. The TV is very old, the wifi doesn't work; also the service; The building is very beautiful outside, but inside it is just so so.
