Gubbio is a pleasant enough town, with an impressive main piazza some way up the hill. However, there are nearby towns with more to offer, such as Perugia The annual Festa dei Ceri is on 15 May at about 11am & 6pm, but little in between!






We stayed ‘out of season’. Possibly one of only 3 or 4 rooms occupied at the time. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. I can imagine an amazing place to be in busier times and in better weather. The drive to the property was a little difficult with very poor road access.

This hotel has Old World charm in its furnishings but is updated where it matters. The bathroom has a heated towel rack and a rain showerhead; the mattress and pillows are just right in firmness/softness and the quality of bedlinens was excellent. We loved staying in Agriturismo Marano, and plan to stay again. Great rural location with views, and the unit was set up with everything we could need. Tiziana is a warm and welcoming hostess.

It is an incredible city built right into the mointain. The streets and sights are just like postcards everywhere you look.
