Courteous and English speaking staff. The hotel room is nice with a gorgeous view of the Lo River. Definitely take a room with the Riverview. On the downside, the pool is not heated and too cold at least in March. At least when I was here the the sauna is under Repair. Would otherwise recommend.

Big beautiful hotel in Hagiang, comfortable rooms splendid breakfast well worth it, place next door is nice food. Winmart 10 min walk (turn right) . town centre 20 min walk turn right. A regional town not yet touristy like Sapa.

The location is very center. It is easy to get to many famous places in Hanoi. Max and his staffs are kindly and helpful. In there you can book the good tours also. I had good experience and definitely come back this hotel next time. Thanks

Good place for the price!

Half decent place to stay for reasonable price. Overall the hotel is nice and certainly nice for 48 bucks a night. Cleanliness was good. Gets a little noisy at night with the concrete walls in the hallways. Everything echoes people’s voices/doors closing etc. Limited western TV options.. so be it. Great views of the mountains on the back side of the hotel and some good room service options.

After 4 days riding a motorcycle around Northern Vietnam this hotel was extremely comfortable. Comfortable bed, never ending hot water, the food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I asked for a sauna & massage, I tried telling the girls i wanted the sauna first but they had no interest in figuring out what i was saying and then my hour long massage only lasted about 40 minutes and was still charged full price. So if i had it to do over I'd stay at same hotel but probably get my massage somewhere else

I think we just got unlucky

The hotel was very pretty and it looked very clean. But it was really noisy outside in the evening. I don’t know if it’s usually like this or if we were unlucky but it sounded like someone had a party in the resturant right below the hotel (mby it was a part of the hotel) and the music and the microphones (karaoke I think) were so loud we couldn’t watch a movie in peace or even fall asleep. We were tired and sick and really wanted to fall asleep early but it was impossible because of the noice outside. Luckily it didn’t keep up all night, but it was still pretty annoying trying to fall asleep to someone doing karaoke😭Also we had been told (it was also written down on a piece of paper we got) that the breakfast closed at 9. But when we got down at 8:20 they were cleaning up and there was no food left. The staff was really sorry for the misunderstanding and made up for it by making us some omelettes, fruits and bread etc - which was really nice of them. Even though we was unlucky with how we experienced the stay I think the hotel itself was pretty nice and had lots of potential

Clean and comfortable hotel in Ha Giang. A bit far from shops and restaurants, but their restaurant is fine if you want a quick meal. Pool was closed, disappointing given hot weather.

This is a very nice hotel. I did not expect a lot because Ha Giang is not huge for tourism, and, to be honest, the room rates were not expensive. However, i was delighted to find myself in a lovely hotel, modern, clean, well-maintained. Our room was great, with double aspect windows, a good size, modern bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choices. The staff at reception were very helpful & spoke good English (I did not expect that!) They organised a car & driver for us the following day, so that we could see the beautiful scenery around Ha Giang. Above, all, I will always remember sitting on the lovely terrace at the back of the hotel, enjoying a cold beer! This terrace looks across a lovely river with high karst mountains on the other side. It really is a stunning setting & i am surprised that the hotel doesn't show more pictures of this in it's advertising!! It is not often that a hotel has such a tempting and lovely outlook to offer. So, if anyone reads this and is thinkjng of going to Ha Giang - definitely go there!!! It's a lovely town in a beautiful mountain & riverside setting, with a stunning surrounding area.....and i very much recommend staying at The Phoenix Hotel!!! (I don't usually write so much in a review.....but this horel & place were such a lovely surprise!!

Et fint hotell som vi benyttet da vi ankom med nattbussen før vi skulle på Ha Giang Loop. hotellet er rimelig så det er mye for pengene.

Staff is very helpful and always with a smile. Hotel has beautiful view, good room size, clean and very comfortable beds. Good breakfast, good variety and choice. Couple downside, 1) the "pho" is not very good and 2) some of the local tourists are very noisy specially early morning when leaving for their tour.
