"The hotel is only five minutes from the train station. The housekeeper on my floor (5th floor) was extremely helpful and kind. The hotel is a good price, but is older. The older furniture and decor seems out of place in this Modern city."

"The manager of the hotel spoke good English and ran to intervene when we had trouble communicating. He gave us very useful information about local sites and arranged a taxi for us to go to one of them. The hotel lies on a road that runs near the former location of the Great Wall. Thus, this road runs in a line from the Great Wall at Jiaoshan to the First Pass to the Old Dragon's Head, all along this same road, though a detour is needed near Jiaoshan. "Claimed as non-smoking. Was maybe renovated not too long ago but you can still smell the smoke. Found a cigarette in the sink too. Mold in the shower cabin. Hair on the floor. Wallpaper is already coming off the wall and some shreds are missing. Air conditioning is noisy. A room switch made it only a bit better but added a mirror that turns on and flashes again and again on its own."
