It was our first time at a ryokan and this place did not disappoint us. It was quiet, the staff was very friendly and hospitable. The meals were fabulous and you can't beat a private onsen in your room.

This was one of the most amazing hotel experiences I have had. The room was large and had a beautiful view with the onsen overlooking the mountains. The staff was overly attentive and was lovely to interact with. The food was divine - it was truly a work of art and also delicious. Would stay here again!

They gave a quick tour of facilities upon check-in, even an escort to the room. Carried baggage from driveway and deposited to our room. I was the only one in the public bath at 5pm. The meals were amazing. While unable to accommodate gluten free diet with traditional cooking, they were very kind in informing which dishes had gluten. 5/5 you should stay here

This extraordinarily beautiful place gave my teenage daughter and myself a wonderful introduction to the artistry and variety ofJapanese fine dining. What an exceptional indulgence. Everything about this stay was perfect. From the moment we were picked up at Gora station until the moment we were dropped off the service was exceptional and every smallest detail was considered. Idyllic mountain getaway

Our stay at Gora Hanougi was fantastic! The surroundings and accommodations were idyllic. We only wished we had more time to stay. The staff provided excellent service and the food was outstanding. It is a traditional ryokan but luxurious. Dinner and breakfast is included in your stay. This was our last stop on our honeymoon in Japan, and it was perfect!

We were treated with great hospitality in this onsen hotel. It started from great shuttle service pick up from Gora station and the welcome tea. Our room has an amazing view of the mountain around us. The private onsen has a perfect temperature and well maintained. Their breakfast and dinner are very nicely made and always delicious. The staff are very responsive and always so courteous. We really enjoyed our time there.
