Located in the heart of Halberstadt’s Old Town, the “former paint factory” sits just below Domplatz. By March 2025, this historic, protected building—featuring 4 vacation apartments—had been lovingly renovated and furnished with antiques. Great care was taken to preserve all historical details and use sustainable materials. The guesthouse is an absolute gem. You can park your car in the nearby parking lot—everything is within walking distance or a short tram ride away!
Your apartment is located on the 1st floor of the building, right in the heart of the old town. Please note: the staircase is quite crooked and takes some getting used to, but it’s a true historic landmark. In front of the house is a small square with old linden trees, so you’ll wake up each morning looking right out at the trees. You enter the apartment directly through the kitchen-dining area, which features a kitchenette and a dining table for 6 people. Three bedrooms follow, with the master bedroom and children’s room located one after the other facing the street. The room with two single beds faces the inner courtyard, which still needs quite a bit of renovation and gives a good impression of what everything looked like less than a year ago. The beds are very comfortable; there are two single beds (100 x 200 cm), one double bed (180 x 200 cm), and a four-poster bed (140 x 200 cm) for the little ones.
The small bathroom is very cozy and equipped with a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet.
The kitchen should have everything you need for your stay, especially a coffee maker, electric kettle, refrigerator with freezer compartment, and dishwasher.
We deliberately chose not to include a TV, because there’s so much to discover in Halberstadt. Instead, we have a fiber-optic connection for reliable Wi-Fi.
When selecting materials, we focused on quality and sustainability: radiant floor heating, clay plaster, linseed oil paints, and hand-mixed wall paints not only ensure a comfortable living environment but also add authenticity, just like our antiques and flea market finds. Everything’s a little wonky and worn, but genuine! We hope you’ll love it as much as we do.
Sights, restaurants, and shopping are all within easy walking distance, and the tram to the train station is just a few hundred meters away at the Johannisbrunnen.
Upon booking, you’ll receive the access code for the front door, as well as information about the apartment keys. We’d love to meet you, so just let us know when you’re arriving—hopefully we can do the handover in person!
The neighborhood is very quiet, so please be considerate of the neighbors. In the summer, open-air concerts take place in the beer garden at the Halberstädter Hof—it’s a wonderful atmosphere.
