Using Knights Inn but not
This is NO Longer a Knights Inn but owned by a firm called Gibson Properties
It seemed people were living in some units and having a bus pick them up in a.m. and return in p.m. Not a very comfortable situation for guests staying overnight.
This motel is much better than the outside would suggest. It is styled like a 1950's / 60's single story strip motel. It has, however, been nicely remolded on the inside. We also got a major surprise upon checking in, as we were placed in a suite. It included a nice master room with adjoining suite accommodations to include a sofa, TV, table and chairs for 6, corner kitchenette with serving bar, in-room Jacuzzi tub, and desk. It was huge! Room # 160 if you wish to request it. Regrettably we only had a single night there and had to leave before breakfast, so I have no comments on breakfast.
About half hour drive time to the Acadia National Park, 2 mins drive to Walmart and other shops. Clean room and comfortable beds. Could hear next door neighbours talking, but our neighbours were quiet at night.
A very good inn with good price. It is near Acadia national park. The service is perfect. I lost my cell phone in the room. They mailed it to me without any charge. I greatly appreciate them.
This hotel is billed as a budget accommodation and it certainly is. I would be fine with that - I was not there to spend time in the room, but at night, after baking through a hot and sunny day, the hotel just felt like an oven. Very unpleasant to sleep in. Maybe the hotel staff could have turned the A/C on in advance?
Satisfied all of our needs for our stay while in the area to visit with friends and relatives...
As always, a trip up Cadillac Mtn. and to Jordan Pond House for Lobsta Stew are also
always on our "To Do" list.
Stay here every year in September........No problems, great staff!
Love Maine!

Not awful, just not ideal for exploring Acadia
This was one the few times I almost wish I hadn’t made hotel reservations in advance. That’s not to say this was a horrible place (it isn’t), it’s just not an ideal location from which to explore Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Knights Inn was 18 plus miles from Acadia and Bar Harbor and on a three-day stay, the drive got tedious. One lane in, one lane out and it’s not limited access, so there’s often traffic turning. Good things about the location are that it is within two miles of a big Walmart and it’s also nearly halfway between Acadia National Park and it’s lesser-visited Schoodic Penninsula portion on the mainland to the north, which is well worth visiting.
But if I had it to do all over again, I feel like I probably could have done just as well price- and quality-wise by just walking in to some of those independant hotels closer to Bar Harbor and gotten a room on the spot.
Knights Inn is an older motel-style affair built into the side of a hill in a roughly “V” formation with the office and another shorter line of rooms in a line semi-parallel to one side of the “V.” It was certainly adequate, if not in need of some serious updating, especially the carpet, which was kinda nasty in our room. Breakfast is not included, just coffee and juice, and the ice machine is outside by the office. WiFi reception was better than several other hotels we stayed in this trip.

Nice place
If you like 5 star hotels--this is not the place. its a nice little motel. not too far off the beaten path. room was clean. I nice pace to rest your head but not much more than that. The bed was not that comfortable and I was a little concerned with the amount of electrical plugs right behind the head of the bed. so much so that the mattress needed to be 8 inches away from the head board.

Quick stay.
We stayed for one night on our way to PEI. The hotel had everything we needed and was close to all amenities. It is an older hotel and needs some upgrades in the bathroom. Before leaving I checked under the beds. Found a few things that didn't belong to us!
Knights Inn is een goed hotel om te verblijven als je het Acadia National Park wilt bezoeken. Het ligt aan een grote weg om een half uur rijden van Bar Harbor. Onze kamer was schoon en alle voorzieningen waren aanwezig.
The room wasn't terribly nice, the bed made both of us sore and it wasn't terribly clean but the customer service was good and it worked for just a few nights stay at a low price during vacation season. There were no amenities to speak of and only coffee/drinks offered in the morning. The fire alarm went off every time we took a shower. We both agreed that next time we would pay more for a better stay since we felt obligated to stay OUT of the room for anything other than sleeping.
What this hotel lacked in amenities and new furnishings it made up for in service and cleanliness! The woman at the front desk when I arrived was nothing but kind and helpful! If you're going to the bar harbor area I wouldn't book online it's much cheaper and there's always rooms available at various places if you just go look in person!
A clean comfortable and reasonably priced room that is close to shopping and attractions. Bar Harbor is 1/2 hour away and aerial flights are available.if you want to see things from a different perspective. Room had a refrigerator , ironing board, iron, clock, and a spacious bathroom suitable for a handicapped person. I was very satisfied with the room.

OK!
Good clean room. Went to get some ice and was given one small bag.
We went for price and proximity to Acadia NP. This is a motel, not a hotel. It is dated and the rooms definitely need an upgrade. As a minimum they must replace their sheets, which kept coming off, and bedding. The carpets were not clean and neither of our rooms (2) were serviced our second day! We got back in the evening and had to take out our trash, make our beds, and get clean towels from office. The walls are very thin and woke to our neighbors 6:00am debate.
The cost to benefit ratio of this motel is very good. It's on the outskirts of Ellsworth and about a half hour from most of the towns on Mt. Desert, and thus great access to Acadia National Park. The rooms were okay, but we had to leave the door open for a short while to get rid of the "just cleaned" smell.

Prima motel.
Mooie locatie. Goede uitvalsbasis voor bezoek van Bar Harbor. Eenvoudig maar wel schoon.
