This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Old Quarter. We booked a balcony "suite" (not a suite, just a regular room, but I knew this from the booking details) and we overlooked Train street. So, not only is Train street a few steps away, but we could sit outside and watch the trains pass, which is fun. Be aware that this does mean some street noise, but not so much to be an issue. This is a budget hotel, so as expected doesn't look quite like the photos in real life. The room itself is old. However, we came to realise that all the furniture and fittings have been refreshed, and everything was spotlessly clean. Bonus points for a nice, hot shower with very adequate water pressure. The staff at Spoon Hotel were very friendly, helpful and proactive. There are nice little touches like umbrellas and paperbacks to borrow, and they can arrange tours and taxis for you. Breakfast was included in our room rate and given the size of the hotel, I was not expecting much. But there was always a nice selection of food available, with eggs and other breakfast dishes cooked to order.

Fantastic location next to Train Street

Spoon hotel has amazing staff. The lady at the reception was so kind in assisting me. Room was very clean, and the laundry service was fantastic and affordable. Super close to all the good stuff in Hanoi—local shopping, great food, and even some bars, including a speakeasy just a 1-2 minute walk away. The staff was really friendly and helped us out with things we weren’t familiar with, like tours, airport transport, and food recommendations. The room was super spacious and perfect for the five of us. I was also glad they had an elevator, which made dealing with our big luggage so much easier. The room was clean, and the air conditioning was strong, so we stayed comfortable despite the heat.

Hidden gem.

We loved this hotel. It’s such a good location. Right next to train street, and really close to shopping and great places to eat in the old quarter. Ms Thai and Phuc could not be more helpful, and the breakfast was good. Some fixings are a bit old but the beds are comfy and amenities good. Great value.

Reception Staff were very friendly and helpful. We used this as a quick stopover between trips so really didn’t expect or need a lot. Room was perfectly comfortable just to sleep until next pick up. Only problem is that breakfast was supposed to be served from 7 but wasn’t available until 7.25 so we were pushed for time before our trip collection.
