"Fred was an excellent, responsive host. He kindly allowed our senior dog (just over the weight limit) to stay and let our parents check in early since the home was ready. After checkout, we realized we’d left something behind—Fred replied immediately and let us return even though the cleaners had already arrived.The location is fantastic: just a short walk down the hill to downtown Occoquan’s shops and restaurants. The large property was great for walking our dogs. There are some outdoor items near the shed, but nothing that interfered with our stay. Families with young children should note there are steep drop-offs along the side of the property with no guardrails.The home was perfect for our quick wedding-weekend trip. It’s older with some charming, worn-in touches, but clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. Sleeping layout: two small main-level bedrooms each with twin trundles, and a huge upstairs bedroom with a queen and a private nook that could be used for work or extra sleeping space.We didn’t use many of the amenities, but there’s plenty of outdoor seating, a grill, and a covered gathering area—great for longer stays.Overall, we loved the house, the location, and the host, and we’d happily stay again!"

"1.) The location of the neighborhood inconveniently loacted to stores, gas stations, & main roads for highway access.2.) The rental quarter is located in the back of the home: clean, well-kept w/a comfortable bed and space heaters. No TV in bedroom3.) Caution to those with physical disabilities: You have to enter the quarters by walking down a slight slope into the backyard. If there has been inclement weather, you may slip before reaching the step stones 40-60ft away. Unfortunately, the path is dark bc the path's solar lights were inoperable. If you're on the shorter side, you may have difficulty reaching over the fence to unlatch the hook. Lastly, you will hear the steps of family walk around, which can be bothersome to light sleepers.Aside from those discrepancies--its an enjoyable place to reside for short trips"
