just a short ferry ride from Beaufort, NC and you're in shackleford Island watching wild horses on the #beach !
A morning ferry ride to this island and some walking led us to a deserted beach on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Walking southeast along the beach we ran into a harem. Arriving early in the a.m., walking about 20 minutes away from the ferry landing, and leaving around noon allowed us to beat the heat and the crowds.
