The Tyne at Walker View across the Tyne from the Hebburn side, with a vessel alongside the Offshore Technology Park wharf at Walker .... this was formerly the fitting-out quay for the Vickers shipyard. The big hammerhead crane is still in regular use for the handling of large reels of cable.

Hebburn Riverside Looking downriver from near the Bill Quay bend (behind the camera) with the cranes of Swan Hunter shipyard, Wallsend on the opposite bank. Sadly this great yard ceased operation in 2006 and the iconic cranes were sold in early 2007.
