The cottage comfortable, clean, decorated to a high standard and was really well equipped, we had everything we needed. The welcome pack was lovely. We sat outside most evenings. The neighbours were friendly and gave us good tips for the area. We walked the (fairly steep) path down to Hebden, took about 20 mins. There is also a bus service which runs until early evening. Great base to explore the surrounding areas and for walks.

In hindsight, not necessarily the best time of year to visit (end November).
In hindsight, not necessarily the best time of year to visit (end November). If you are not used to driving on steep hills, prepare for plenty of hand-brake starts! The directions we were given to the cottage were confusing as they said to turn onto Ackroyd Lane but we could not find this despite checking several times. This caused delay in eventually finding cottage. Road signs opposite the old town sign read Keighley Road and Pecket Bar. This needs to be double checked for future guests.
In terms of the accommodation, the rooms were spacious, nicely decorated and clean. We would have expected a number of logs to be available for the wood burner instead of directions as to where to go to get some. Also there should be a warning not to open the stove door when fire is lit as the handle is red hot so you need to use a glove or towel. Our stove at home does not have a hot handle so we were expecting it to be cold. In other cottages we have visited this year, there has been a good supply of tea bags but we found only 2! Also small milk cartons don't compare with bottles of wine and pints of milk left in all the other cottages we have visited. Bathroom toiletries consisted of part used hair conditioner and no shampoo. Once again, in the other cottages we have visited this year, a full range of unused products was available. We appreciate this may have something to do with the time of year and holiday season ending but felt it appropriate to highlight. If you don't have a small car, be prepared to park on steep hill at the end of the drive. In summer months, the view from the bedroom window must be outstanding. Hare and Hounds pub was super!
