About this property
VRFLX Seneca Lake Access | Walk to Beach
Nestled among the trees near Seneca Lake, Seneca Lake Access offers a unique combination of privacy, recreation, and convenience. Whether you're planning a family vacation, lake getaway, wine country adventure, or relaxing retreat with friends, this spacious A-frame provides an inviting home base for exploring the Finger Lakes.
The home sleeps up to 12 registered overnight guests across three conventional bedrooms and a separate basement bonus room with additional sleeping accommodations.
One of the property's most distinctive features is its proximity to Smith Memorial Park. Guests can walk to the park entrance in approximately 750 feet, with the seasonal swim beach about another 500 feet inside the park for a total walking distance of approximately 1,250 feet, or about 0.24 mile, from the home. The park features a seasonal lifeguarded swim beach, dock, boat launch, picnic areas, grills, playgrounds, and Seneca Lake views.
Seneca Lake Access is a private wooded vacation home near the lake. It is not a lakefront property.
Unlike many lake-access properties, guests can enjoy convenient access to Seneca Lake while still returning to the privacy and space of a large wooded setting. As the only permanent residence on the road leading to the park, the property feels remarkably secluded despite being only minutes from Watkins Glen and many of the Finger Lakes' most popular attractions.
The outdoor spaces are designed for making memories together. Spend your days at the lake, then return home to soak in the private hot tub, cool off in the seasonal unheated plunge pool, gather around the oversized fire pit, enjoy dinner on the outdoor dining deck, or challenge family and friends to a friendly putting competition.
The seasonal plunge pool is guaranteed open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Outside of that period, the pool should be considered closed unless specifically confirmed otherwise in writing before your stay.
Inside, the home offers comfortable accommodations across three levels, highlighted by a vaulted great room with a wall of windows, spacious gathering areas, and a large eat-in kitchen designed for bringing people together.
The lower level has become a guest favorite, featuring a spacious bonus room with custom boat beds and additional sleeping accommodations alongside a 300-square-foot arcade for kids and adults alike.
Located near Watkins Glen, wineries, breweries, waterfalls, hiking trails, and countless Finger Lakes attractions, Seneca Lake Access offers a distinctive balance of adventure, relaxation, privacy, and family fun.
Located in Hector, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a lake. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Seneca Lake and Watkins Glen State Park. Traveling with kids? We had a wonderful stay! The house was perfect for our family with grown children and pets, with plenty of comfortable living space for everyone to spread out. The game room and large yard were a lot of fun, and the short walk to the lake was a huge bonus. The home was spotless, and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed. We’d definitely stay here again!
Everything about our stay was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Finger Lakes. The house is spacious and very clean, with beautiful lake views from many windows. The hosts, Annie and Gary, were very accommodating and communicative, letting us check in early due to a snow storm that came through and checking the next morning to see if we needed a plow. The location is great, near many of the breweries we wanted to visit on this trip, with good food nearby as well. Our pup loved it too!
This house was perfect for our stay, a relaxing time in the woods but close to the lake. It’s a lovely setup and such a large space for a family or group of friends to enjoy!
All ages in our group had a wonderful time. The house itself was exactly what we were looking for, clean and comfortable. There were many things to do in the area and easy to get to. It was great!
Enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated all the amenities provided by the owners! House was nice and private, comfortable, and plenty of room to spread out for the five of us!! Checking in was a breeze as well and no problems at all with communication!
Perfect location for my bachelorette party! The house was great, and it was only a short distance away from the lake, beautiful waterfalls, Watkins Glen and many fantastic wineries! Thank you Gary and Annie for the wonderful stay!
Definitely a 10/10. Loved our stay - owners have done a wonderful job making sure you have a comfortable stay. They were super fast in responding and absolutely no issues!
We stayed at Annie and Gary's home a few weeks ago. We love that we were able to bring our dog as we do not travel without her. House was clean and obviously large enough for my family. Location was wonderful and it really is about a 10 min walk to the water/beach. We walked our dog over to Smith Park daily and were able to take her swimming too!! Few hiccups during our stay but Annie and Gary were very quick to respond and resolve any issues. Would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to again in the future.
We loved the private yard, hot tub, and three different floors with bedrooms and a bathroom on each. The game room was a plus for the kids and gave the adults a little quiet. The location was great to go to Watkins Glen, Corning, and Ithica. We rented a boat from Roy's on north end of the lake and enjoyed our drive through the cute towns. We would definitely recommend for families.
Our stay was great. The house was in great condition and everything is labeled and easy to find so that you are not searching around for which switch controls what. Instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. You can see the lake from the hot tub and deck and there are great views of sunsets over Seneca lake. If we travel to the area again, we will likely be back!
Clean house with good space to accommodate a number of people with both indoor and outdoor activities for everyone. It’s located just off the winery trail and a short drive to Watkins Glen. It has everything you need for a nice time away. Property managers are prompt with communication.
We loved our stay in Hector!! We had 3 separate couples traveling together and the layout of the house was ideal with each of us sleeping on a separate level. We especially loved the lake view from the main living area and deck, the well-equipped kitchen and the hot tub. The beach is a quick walk down the hill and there are many wineries within a few minute drive. Watkins Glen and the Corning Glass museum are an easy drive too. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and hope to do another family trip here again!
Had a fantastic relaxing week with our family. We try to stay on Seneca Lake annually and this was our first time at this location. The proximity to Watkins Glen and so many wineries is perfect. The house was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough so that 2 couples and a family of 3 could all spread out. We spent alot of time outside enjoying the pool, hot tub and the beautiful parklike setting. Thank you Annie and Gary for making your lovely home available to us!
We spent 4 nights here last weekend and what a wonderful time we had!
The pictures don't do this property justice because it is completely renovated and just beautiful.
We loved the hot tub and firepit at night. The property is very close to some of the best wineries, so we could go back and forth during the day.
The hosts have the home stocked with just the right essentials so we didn't have to bring everything with us.
We will definately come back, and this is where we will stay!
My fiancé and I stayed there over Presidents’ Day weekend with our two dogs. It was a beautiful home in a great location. Very quiet and away from everything right on the lake but also within 5 minutes of a ton of breweries and wineries. Would definitely recommend to anyone the house was great we 3 floors and a bedroom on each floor, fun game area in the basement, hot tub and pool(in the summer) outside. Was the perfect weekend get away home and the house was very clean and can’t say enough about how convenient the location was. Right on the wine trail and close to breweries and the state park trails as well.
This property has everything you need for a perfect getaway. House is even better in person, updated bathrooms so nice. Kitchen is very well stocked loved the hot tub!
Short walk to lake we stayed in April weather wasn't great but I can imagine using the lake in summer would be so convenient.
Downstairs area is awesome newly renovated loved the air hockey and darts. My only negative was main floor mattress very soft and lumpy.
Our family loved this house! It was the cleanest pet friendly home we have ever rented, and the layout was perfect for our family of adult children and their partners, with each bedroom suite on a separate floor. There was plenty of common space inside and out, and we all loved having easy lake access along with the choice of staying poolside at the house. Being so close to many local wineries, the town of Watkins Glen, and minutes from honor-system farmstands and a fresh meat vending machine (!!) made dining in or out simple. Our hosts were very responsive, as well. We are looking forward to returning next summer!
Absolutely amazing house and location...and...owners!
We were looking for a pet friendly house near Seneca Lake. And we found the perfect place! Beautiful location on 3 acres within 5 minute walk to Seneca Lake and Smith Park. Had a minor technical deficiency (on my part) that only took one call to Gary and he had me set with the TV's. Had another minor problem with the water heater which took one call to Annie and Gary had it fixed before we got back to the house that evening. A perfect place to relax and enjoy life!
This is the second time we've stayed at this property. The owners are very thorough on expectations and you can easily tell they take a lot of pride in this property. There is a creek that's always fun to explore right across the street. The lake is a quick walk down the road and it's the perfect spot for winery and brewery tours. The house has everything you need to cook and all the amenities. The kids loved exploring the property, as did the dogs, and making smores at the camp fire.
The layout of the rooms was perfect for three couples, two with toddlers and one with two dogs. There is plenty to do around the property for those who aren't big on wineries/breweries.
The hot tub addition was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring and the sky view from the deck was gorgeous.
We had a nice stay here and enjoyed cooking meals for our family of 5 in the spacious kitchen. A complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch, thank you. We did the upper Watkins Gen gorge trail and enjoyed it. Caught and released a few fish, one off the nearby dock (Smith Park) and a couple others in a nearby stream. Hot tub was great and we played euker. Had a nice Easter dinner too. Lots of trees being moved around outside. We would like to see when all is done. Looks like it will be nice. We missed the fact we should have brought shampoo, etc. luckily one of us had enough to share. A good stay.
