This was our 2nd time staying in the cabin. It was relaxing and feels like your secluded without being too remote. Cabin was very clean. They have some nice amenities to enjoy while on the property too.
In town for an event at the McGregor Performing Arts Center. Second time staying at the cabin for an event there, and we prefer it! It may be super convenient at only 8 minutes from the venue, but it feels like it's worlds away with the scenery and ability to spread out. Great for families who need more than a hotel room to feel truly comfortable; only wish we had more time to just sit on the porch in the rocking chairs and enjoy the water view! Host was super responsive and accommodating!
It was a perfect getaway. We loved the peace and quiet and enjoyed the trails and fishing. Ron had great communication with us and the cabin far exceeded our expectations. So thankful for the opportunity to stay here!
This secluded yet close to Henderson, home is a true gem. We stayed there while relocating cross country and was the safe reprieve my family needed. Highly recommended!
Cabin and property it is on is clean and well maintained. The walking trail is part of a local park so there are occasional walkers passing by on the trail. Overall it’s a good solid place to stay unless you intend to venture out beyond a one-mile radius. The surrounding area is repressed and comes with elevated risk as you pass though it. Crime rate statistics for Henderson are elevated compared to other areas in NC and I wish I would have researched it a bit more before bringing my family there. Kudos to the owner for maintaining a nice relaxing property. It’s the surrounding area that leaves much to be desired.
Ths views, and the wildlife. Such a refreshing vacation. Such a private location. Walking around ths pond was my favorite. I wish I could do this everyday.
From the moment we pulled into the driveway, the 6 of us were delighted with this property. It is a secluded little slice of heaven that gave us the peace we sought. The large front porch was a lovely gathering spot for conversation and connection. We also enjoyed the large open kitchen/living room and found ourselves laughing together as we ate and played games. The seclusion of this spot allowed us to disconnect from the outside world, while the updated amenities helped us to feel comfortable.
Immaculate cabin. This was the perfection we were looking for. A cabin feel through and through. Thoughtfully decorated and not overly done. Felt safe. The drive way is 0.25 mile gravel driveway through the woods. There is a 1.5 mile loop trail in 100 feet in-front of the house. Perfect for walking your pup. And half way through a dog park. This was a test to see how our furry companion would do on a vacation and it was perfect for her and us. Note, There is an awesome drive in theater we very much enjoyed.

Love this secluded cabin. Off fox pond park so there plenty outdoor activities. Trails. Porches on the front and back. Which was a nice setup for morning coffee in the front. Dinner and fire pit in the back. I’ve been to this location before so I didn’t need to have much interaction with the host. Because everything is detailed in the cabin notes. However I’ve met host on prior trip and communication and assistance was through and prompt. Just go through the gate and you will be pleasantly surprised
The Fox Den is a wonderful property. The pictures posted online do not fully capture the quality and uniqueness of this property. Our group consisted of 3 adult couples, all distantly related. The Fox Den was perfect for our stay! Three bedrooms and two bathrooms suited our needs well. The common area was spacious and homey. It would be interesting and fun to stay there when the temperatures were conducive to using the wood stove fireplace. The location and surrounding area truly give you the feeling of being out in the woods
Overall, if you're looking for a place to stay in the greater Henderson area, the Fox Den should be on the top of your list. We're looking forward to a return visit!

Beautiful secluded property. Better in person. Host was very personable. Absolutely no issues. No posted address at the entrance. Private Property. You will have to continue off the road. You will be pleasantly surprised when arrived. Hope to book again soon. There is a community park where people walk trails and fishing. But doesn’t interfere with a good time. The people just admiring the beautiful cottage.
My husband and i along with 3 of our friends and 3 pups stayed here for a trip to ride at the nearby dirtbike track. We loved this property so much our first night we booked the rest of the weekend here. The owner is very prompt, helpful and kind! This is a really great property, if you're on the fence you should just go ahead and book it! It was very clean, well stocked with anything you might need aside from food and we all were able to take hot showers consecutively(i know some reviews mentioned they couldn't). The fire pit was also a big hit during our visit! Don't forget to check out the trail around the lake out front of the cabin, our pups all loved it! I could keep going but i don't think i need to! 5⭐️
Overall the stay was very positive. The house is very clean and roomy. There were a few things we noticed that could be improved, but for the most part it was a very nice place and a very relaxing experience. A few of our more pressing requests would be either blinds or privacy tinting on the bathroom windows, a larger water heater (for 2 adults it was barely adequate, but for families with kids or more than one couple there would not be enough hot water for everyone), and a dining table with chairs for dinners and/or games would have made a huge difference. One other suggestion would be more detailed driving directions. GPS tried to take us through the park entrance and we had to use the map to find our way around the pond to the correct location of the “red gate”. Despite the suggestions we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider staying at this beautiful place again.
The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has a gorgeous view. The walking trails are all around the area and it's all pet friendly which is the best part. The cabin is very quiet at night, so if you're with friends or family you may want to bring a white nose machine if you aren't a fan of complete silence.
The cabin feels like it's in it mountains. Sitting out by the fire was one of the best parts of our trip. The kitchen is pretty stalked up. I love how many pets you're able to bring. I wasn't a big fan of the street the property is on, but the cabin is a good 1/2 mile back. There is a public walking trail in front of the cabin closer to the lake, so expect to see people walking by at times. There are only blinds in the bedroom, but no other windows that face the walking trail. There are motion sensor lights outside, which made it easy to take the dogs out at night to go potty.
We ventured into the town and it's cute and has the essentials. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was just what we needed. Family gathered in the area for a high school graduation, and the cabin close to the graduation venue. Other members of the family came for dinner, which was cooked on the smoker on the back porch. It was a great spot.
It was a really great place. It was in good condition and a great location. We liked the amenities like the kitchen and wi-fi, wish we could have stayed longer.
