Only two blocks from Main Street, you can wake up and walk to town for a hot cup of coffee, world class shopping, a day at the spa, ice cream shops, great restaurants, or take a short trip to countless outdoor adventures. Then, return a cozy up with the fireplace and songbirds singing outside your window.

Perfect location

Our family of 4 stayed at the cabin for 5 nights. The location of the cabin allowed us to walk to all the attractions in town. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. Everything worked flawlessly! The Checkin process was easy! Excellent!

Great location!

Wonderful little place within walking distance to downtown while still private and quiet. Loved the neighborhood, the little lake and the geese were a treat. Nice escape from the heat for a long weekend. We will definitely be back!

Great location for exploring Highlands

Well supplied, comfortable home in an excellent location for exploring. Our little boy loved being so close to the pond, and we loved being able to walk to Main Street for ice cream or to the nature center to explore. The front porch rockers are perfect for morning coffees or evening wine; the only thing missing is more seating to dine outside.

Weekend away

We had the best weekend! The house is perfect! Short walk to town, pass a lake and feed the ducks. It was also a short walk to a hiking trail. The front porch was great for morning coffee and happy hour. Loved the fireplace, loved everything!

Wildlife and more!

First, let me say how much we’ve enjoyed this house and location the past 2 years. Last year when we arrived there was a deer in the front yard. Not to be outdone, this year we had a bear on the back deck that wandered into the street and deer frolicking behind the house a couple days later. And, we had raccoon tracks in the pollen on the front porch. This was a Highlands first for us. We’ve been visiting Highlands for several years and have finally decided to buy our own home as a result of these wonderful memories. This location is absolutely perfect! You can walk to shopping, dining, the Biological Research facility and so much more. Don’t miss this gem!

In town is an understatement! It’s so convenient!

We loved this house. It was so comfortable and so perfectly located. We definitely would like to return. Everything was like clockwork. Checkin was a breeze and checkout. There are no surprises. I would trust this host! Hope to be back soon!

Wonderful mountain house

We have greatly enjoyed both our stays at this property with our young children. It’s very clean and cozy. The location can’t be beat - it’s just a few blocks from downtown so we could easily walk to anything we needed. The kids loved the rocking chairs on the front porch and the ducks and geese at nearby Harris Lake. There are also lots of family-friendly hikes just a short drive away. Laird quickly responded to my questions and was a tremendous help in returning something we left something important behind.

True Feel of Highlands

The house is a little dated but that only added to the allure of Highlands. Think of it as an upscale cabin in the woods… except you’re less than a mile from downtown and the walk is amazing. Laird was extremely responsive despite our dumb questions and seemed as happy to help as we were to borrow her home for the weekend.

Perfect location, cozy home, great owner!

My friend and I stayed in this lovely home while scouting out venues for my upcoming wedding. It was such a warm, inviting home! The location is within easy walking distance to Main Street - which was perfect for walking home from Ugly Dog later in the evening. We didn't eat at home but kitchen was well stocked. The home is well decorated. A mountain vibe without being too kitschy. Comfortable bed and sofa too! Walked to Sunset Rock -don't miss it! Would definitely recommend.

Great getaway!

When we arrived, it was just after a hard freeze in the area. The heating needed attention and the owner sent someone out to repair it. It was fixed and we had heat! Great communication with owner; perfect location for town and the house was very clean and comfortable. A great getaway in Highlands to relax and enjoy our time. Even though it was drizzly weather, we still loved it all. The fireplace was wonderful!!

Perfect In-Town location.. Have stayed 2x in less than a year!!

We just returned from the best long weekend in Highlands and a 3 night stay at this lovely home! The home is cozy, well decorated with out being kitschy and has everything you need to for your stay (hair dryer, coffee maker, wine opener, washer/dryer, plates/cups/glasses, well stocked kitchen tools, towels, Netflix etc etc) Enjoy the front porch and wave to neighbors. Take an evening stroll to Sunset Rock which is an easy 20 - 30 minute walk away! Speaking of walking, being able to walk a few blocks for morning coffee (Bucks, Mountain Fresh), a fabulous dinner (Cyprus) or a late night drink (lookin at you Ugly Dog and Lost Hiker) makes the house even better. The owners are wonderful to work with and I have already recommended the house to friends who will be staying in April. They have a joint property directly behind this home. If you have a larger group/family, could easily rent both and not feel separated. All around perfect!

Super cute home in a fantastic location to walk everywhere you want to go in Highlands. .3 of a mile from downtown shopping, restaurants, etc. We would stay here again. Close to all hiking, waterfalls and outdoor activities. Particularly enjoyed hiking Glen Falls and Whiteside Mountain. Walked to dinners each night. Excellent restaurants and fun shopping in Downtown Highlands. Very comfortable home that had everything we needed for a great long weekend.

Great house 2 blocks from Main Street! The house is cozy, clean, and super comfortable. The mattress in the primary bedroom is especially comfortable. We loved the porch, the friendly lady across the street, walking around the neighborhood and the easy 5 min walk to downtown. Would definitely recommend this house.
