The room was spotless, the staff was kind and courteous. While it may not be the premiere hotel in the area, we slept very well, felt safe, and everything was extremely clean and well taken care of, For a short stay in Hilo, I recommend the Bay Reed.

The hotel is affordable with a laid back personality and it’s conveniently located in town near eateries and beaches. There’s no elevators; however, and it is an older hotel (what I mean by laid back). However, it is well kept and clean, and the check-in process is simple and straightforward. If you aren't looking for a fancy hot tub, spa, and tons of different amnesties, this might be the perfect hotel for you.
