"Expedia was the problem for the check-in process. If your travels take you to Hilo, this is the place to stay. It’s on quite possibly the most beautiful neighborhood in Hilo. Beautiful setting and great hosts. There is quite a bit of coqui frogs and it sounds like a frogpocalyose. Lol but after the first night, we slept through it. Truly awesome lodging option! Brand new rooms. So nice. 10+ AAA+"

"Very clean and updated room that fit our family of five comfortably. The host provided great communication throughout our stay, which made everything easy and stress-free. The shower pressure was a bit low, and the property itself looked a little sketchy at first glance, but don't let that deter you. "The complex where this unit is located is in need of some extreme TLC. Once inside the unit, the unit is just ok. It was comfortable for sleeping and the shower had good water pressure. The kitchen pans are in really poor condition. The pictures make it look nicer than I felt it was. We knew it was a studio but the kitchen had no space whatsoever. There were no chairs at the pool and it was not an inviting space at all. The unit will be fine for some, but for me, it was not worth the cost...

"A wonderful guesthouse a few miles outside of town. It had everything we needed and the communication with the owners was great. The only small downside was the combo washer/dryer took 5 hours to do a very small load and we couldn't use it overnight because it was right next to the pullout bed."

"The property lists a kitchen but there is not. The is a refrigerator, plates/cups/etc and some plug in appliances, but washing dishes in a tiny bathroom sink was not ideal. There was laundry accessible and the house was very safe and comfortable during a hurricane. Just beware that if you are looking for a kitchen, there isn’t really. Otherwise the property was perfect for our stay."

It was quiet and exactly what we were looking for. Very close to downtown and restaurants. The one downfall was the 20 stairs leading up to the cottage.
