Stonechat Barn is a comfortable and very well-equipped cottage in a peaceful location near to the coast. The owners have gone to much effort to ensure a Covid Secure environment and the barn was spotlessly and reassuringly clean. The interior is calming and uncluttered with some lovely creative touches from owner Sally. Two adults and an 11 year old fitted in perfectly and my daughter loved her surf-beach themed bedroom. The secluded back garden with very comfortable garden furniture was much appreciated and we enjoyed the fields around the cottage where we saw kestrel, stonechats and deer. We had a lovely (mainly) sunny week at Stonechat Barn and would love to return!

Peaceful home in the little village of Derril.
Peaceful home in the little village of Derril. Friendly owners who live next door. Couple of small fields adjacent to walk the dog in. Back garden is small but pretty and fine to let the dog run around in. We found the home a bit compact for 4 adults but managed to get around each other. Would be perfect for family with two small kids. Cooking facilities are fine. We ate in each night. Waitrose is 10 minutes drive. There were a few more cobwebs than we would have liked, some clearly been there a while. Bathroom was fine. There was a big leak one morning which meant we could not shower, but the owners had it fixed promptly during the day whilst we were out exploring. About 16 minute drive to Bude town and beaches. The walks from Bude along the coastline North and South are amazing. Bodmin moor is wonderful, and the walks up Rough Tor and Brown Wiley amazing and do-able.

A very comfortable, dog friendly cottage (had a genuinely secure garden, with high fences) and an additional plus was the large field to exercise the dog ... the cottage had everything you needed and was ideally suited for exploring both Devon & Cornwall. The local pub was a short walk away and served great food, I have no hesitation in recommending this delightful cottage.

We had an amazing time at Stonechat Barn.
We had an amazing time at Stonechat Barn. The hosts were very friendly, other than making sure we had everything we needed, they were just there if and when we needed and to say good morning if our paths crossed during our stay.
Stonechat had everything you needed for your stay and we would most definitely go again.
