From the outside the property looks lovely. But when you get to the room the plastering, painting & carpentry is poor. We couldn’t close the bathroom door. It was too narrow to catch the lock.
The walls are so thin we could hear next door spitting into their sink at 1am.
The hallway smelt musty.
Sheer blinds and curtains to hide the building site view out of the window. Shame that wasn’t tidied up after the renovation.
The fresh milk wasn’t fresh and actually sour so we couldn’t make a hot drink. The flask system with no fridge or date on doesn’t work. My second stay at a chestnut hotel with this problem.
The bed was comfortable and the bedding and curtains were decent quality.
The breakfast was lovely and the buffet on offer.
Staff very friendly but when some of these bad points were mentioned they didn’t seem interested.
