My wife and I had a pleasant 1-night stay at this property. The staff were friendly and helpful - helped with our special request of storing some personal item in their fridge. Please note that the check out details on Expedia are incorrect - correct check out time is 10:30am (not 11am). Staff was friendly - allowed for a late check out of 11:30am. The choice of hot breakfast was also excellent! The only complaint about this property is that the room we stayed in (room 2) didn't match the pictures which look refurbished and modern. The bathroom was very small and tired (so was the room). But the staff's friendliness made up for this shortcoming.
This hotel met the the main criteria I have for being a good hotel. Fast WiFi, a hot powerful shower, and a good cooked breakfast. I also liked the decor of the bedroom, and how friendly the staff were. I'd happily stay here again.

Basic, but a comfortable, clean room above a traditional pub. Well kept local real ale, friendly staff and a very good breakfast.
The staff was extremely friendly. The place was cosy and convenient, on great location. You can get there easily by public transport and all the best hikes, nature atteactions in the area are reacheable by foot.
We had a lovely stay, the staff were great and very helpful. We enjoyed dinner there and the breakfast was delicious. Beautiful surroundings with lots of walking nearby.
This is a very nice hotel / pub.
The staff are very nice 👍

The staff welcomed us to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.
Warm welcome, room was spotless and decorated beautifully, however this room has own entrance on st and the traffic noise was horrendous, no sleep at all . Would stay again but not this particular room
Very welcoming and homely. The food was really good, and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were well appointed with a very comfortable bed. We stayed on a Sunday evening, and thoroughly enjoyed the pub quiz.
We will deffo stay again
We were happy with the room we had in that it was comfortable, spacious and clean. We weren’t however expecting the room to be next to the pub. There was a window which looked straight out onto the street so we had to keep the blinds closed. The traffic was fairly noisy in the morning but not a big problem for us. We had good service at breakfast but found the choice to be fairly limited.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Did not get room to the standard we paid for it was noisy and cold and did not come up to the expectations that were advertised. The room looked out on to wheelie bins and beer barrels, came to breakfast room which was very cold property had not got adequate heating as the bar area was cold as well. Other pubs in the town were warm and cosy.
Historic property so room is reflective of that. Clean, quiet & great location with good parking. Onsite bar & restaurant convenient with good quality meals. Breakfast was also very good with a good selection.
