The property was a nice area. From the outside it was nice and quiet. The inside was nicely furnished, the floors and wall decor were very nice.
We got in late so we were ready to get some sleep. As we got to the beds there was mouse feces on top of the beds. So we went to sleep on the sofas, but there were mouse feces there as well. Exhausted, we cleaned the beds. The next morning we noticed mouse traps on the counters and a freshly dead mouse on a sticky trap.
As we went to shower and brush teeth the water smelled like sulfur. So we used bottled water. We would have left early but we had tickets to the Whiteout Game. Of course none of that was communicated up front, it was tough to understand a prior rating of 9.2.
It had such potential, it was a shame - we were happy to get on our way home.
I cant thank Sandy enough for our stay! This charming cabin was perfect for our family. Our stay was relaxing yet there was plenty to do while we were there, from the pool table, board games, books, and fire pit. The Allegrippis trails are about 5 min from the cabin so it was great access for our family to enjoy mountain biking too.
We stayed for the weekend over our daughter’s graduation. It was great to have a weekend disconnected from the world and focus on each other. Even though it rained all weekend and we didn’t get to enjoy Raystown, it was a great trip and place.

Great Getaway Place in the Mountains!
On a weekend where it was consistently hotter than 90 degrees, the air conditioning units worked wonderfully to keep the cabin nice and cool. Was very impressed with all of the amenities available at Mountain Rendezvous. The outdoor space is great and very secluded. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from everyday hustle and bustle for a few days. Great place to unwind!

Peaceful Retreat
Beautiful private location. Very clean cabin and well stocked kitchen. The layout of the cabin was great for our family. In the evenings we enjoyed the pool table, nice lawn for yard games, and the fire pit. The listing info is accurate as to what ammenities are available and the owner was super to work with. i would recommend this retreat to freiends and family. Had a wonderful, peaceful vacation!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, communication
This property was beyond remote. The drive there was on unpaved roads with switchbacks and potholes with no lighting at all. The home itself was ok but poor lighting, no garbage pail. Overall disappointing
The location of the cabin was perfect for what we were wanting. We didn’t have plans to venture out much, other than to see Raystown Lake, which was 5 minutes away. Even though it’s so close to a campground, it felt very secluded and was quiet and peaceful.
The driveway was a little challenging, and we felt it should probably have been mentioned in the listing or in the email communications. We have an SUV, and spun tires all the way up, on dry ground. We had family visiting for dinner, and they all had the same issue. We definitely would never stay here in the winter! The view from the cabin may have made up for the tricky driveway though. Absolutely beautiful!
The inside of the cabin was a tad musty smelling, and could use a better cleaning. Lots of bugs…both dead and alive, and cob webs. Since there wasn’t a pool or hot tub, the kids were looking forward to sitting in the jetted tub, but changed their mind when they saw all the spiders in it. We realize it’s a mountain cabin and not a 5 star hotel, but we’ve stayed in a lot of cabins…a few cleaner, a few a little more “rustic”. It’s hard to know what they’ll be like just by the pictures. We’ve been to ones that we chose to not stay in once we arrived because they were so bad. This one wasn’t that bad. I think we were just expecting it to be cleaner, since we were told we couldn’t check in an hour early because the cleaning lady needed the full 5 hours to clean between the previous guests checking out and our checkin time.
We have a family of 5, and ran out of paper towels and toilet paper being there for 2 nights. Usually rentals have that stuff stocked somewhere, but we had to go to a local store to get more. We were aware that we had to bring our own linens, so that wasn’t an issue for us.
Some of the rugs could use non-slip grips underneath. We had to pick the rugs up because we kept slipping on them, and our 2 yr old actually ended up breaking his finger. Luckily it wasn’t a more serious injury, since there’s no phone service or WiFi. I suggest writing down the key code before you get there. Since we had no internet access we had to call the property manager to get our key code when we got there. It took a few tries to get the call to go through.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The craftsmanship of the cabin was really cool. Layout a little confusing at first, and trying to figure out light switches was quite comical! The woodwork is beautiful though, and loved the bird feeder.
Great cabin experience with all of the modern conveniences
This is our second time staying at this location. We really enjoy it and it works well for our family. Cabin was clean and after spending a full day at the lake its a perfect place to come "home" too. The only thing I will say is it would be nice to have a little more comfortable furniture on the outdoor deck. Also a more inviting dining table outside. Alot of the outdoor furniture could use a good refreshing
We spoke with Sandra about our concerns with cleanliness and having the home unoccupied for a long period. She was very accepting of our feedback. She said she planned to address our issues and we decided not to publish our concerns. We did want to let people know that the road into the house is about a mile and a half. That seems short until you try to travel the road. We had to drive so slow that it took us 10 minutes to get to the house on the VERY rough road. We had a bike rack on the back that bounced around on the pot holes and caused our car to dint in. It will need a professional to get the problem fixed so that it is smooth again. Drive very slow to prevent any damage to your vehicle.
Sandra's part of the road is ok but steep. We did need our all-wheel drive.
This house is great for someone wanting to get away and not travel off-site. It is secluded and quite.
Six of us had a nice weekend riding trails in Raystown. About 10 minutes from the trailhead and boat launch. Nice and remote place. Nice to hang on the deck with no one around. Bear in mind there is no Wi-Fi and no cell reception.
We loved our stay here. It was rainy so the pool table was a plus! Kitchen very well equipped. The views? Amazing!
The cabin was sparkly clean… except for some trace that a mouse was there at some point, I guess it is expected when you are in the wild.
We really enjoyed our stay and will love to be back.
Overall we were very happy with our stay. We had a great weekend in Rayestown. The property was clean and just as it was described. We enjoyed the pool table and the fire pit was very relaxing. Would recommend staying here on your next trip.
My brothers and I rented this cabin for an extended weekend getaway. It was awesome from start to finish. The cabin was immaculate. You can see the owners really take care of this property. Perfect location. Close to Huntingdon and a number of boat launches. The pool table was a lot of fun. We loved it. Will definitely be back.
