Overall, we had a good experience at Deerhurst Resort. The restaurant options were great, and the live entertainment was a nice touch. The pool area was enjoyable, and most of the staff were warm and friendly.
However, some areas need attention. The facilities, especially the locker rooms and towel service at the pool, could use updating. They have a one-towel rule, but the towels provided are very small — closer to a hand towel than a bath towel.
We stayed in a waterfront room with a beautiful view, but unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy the balcony due to several large spiders right outside the door. We also found a spider nest inside the room and a millipede in the bathroom. If you’re not a fan of bugs, this may be something to consider.
In-room service was limited — no housekeeping or room service during our stay, which seemed unusual for a resort at this level. The room also lacked some basic amenities like hand lotion, water bottles, and a variety of teas.
Lastly, one staff member at the breakfast buffet made us uncomfortable due to her appearance, which gave the impression she may be unwell. It stood out in contrast to the otherwise professional and polished team.
Deerhurst has potential, and we enjoyed many parts of our stay, but a few improvements would go a long way in elevating the overall guest experience.
