The house was perfect, it makes us feel like home, the location was excellent and the amenities all was very good. As he mentioned one thing was kinda complicated to put the address in the navigation system, was hard to find it, but thanks to all the directions David provided us, we were able to find it.
Beautiful home in the perfect downtown location. Our family loved the amenities and the bedrooms were lovely. Our kids spent long nights playing chess in the dining room. Will definitely stay in this home again if we come back to Inverness.
Well situated within easy walking distance of the riverside pedestrian trail, shops, and restaurants. The castle is literally the first thing you see out the window. Spacious and well kept rooms and elegant atmosphere.
Great location to downtown and the property itself, is wonderful. Roomy, well stocked with necessities and we felt like we were in a “castle” of our own for a few days. When we come back to Inverness, we will get this property if available.
Loved this house. It was beautiful, comfortable and convenient to the town center. View of the castle from windows! Responsive hosts! It was lovely to come in after a day of touring the area and sit with a glass of wine in front of fire. Super restaurants within walking distance.
We spent 4 days and 3 nights in Inverness. Perfect location as we walked to town and were close to shopping, eating and pubs. House was well appointed and had the perfect separation of space. Would satay here again on next trip to Inverness.
An absolutely wonderful host, well equipped house, comfortable beds. This rental was in the heart of everything. David arranged a tour for us and helped us navigate to the location. We all loved this place! Pubs nearby, a short drive to Nairn for golf, and even a meal in the kitchen of the rental home.
Large house with excellent kitchen. Beds comfortable. Water pressure good with lots of hot water. Lots of space to spread out. Lots of stairs, even up to house, so not suitable for those with mobility concerns. Close to shops. We had a great stay.
My wife and I along with our three adult children had a wonderful stay at Dunvegan. The house was spacious and convenient to anywhere in town. More importantly it was clean and well appointed. Also David was incredibly helpful in arranging a tour guide for excursions to Skye and the Highlands. A wonderful few days for our family to spend together!
This house is within walking distance of everything we wanted/needed in Inverness… shopping, food, scenic river walks, church. Parking for our rental car was very close and simple. The house was clean and comfortable. We loved eating together in the dining room. The view of Inverness Castle was unbeatable (it’s literally across the street). We would definitely stay here again
We must commend, David (host) for keeping us in communication. House is well kept, beautiful gardens and in perfect location. David kindly provided us with basics like milk and bread which was a pleasant surprise.
We stayed at 3 different properties over our 2 weeks in Scotland and this was the best of the 5 star properties. A true 5 star rating in all areas including categories, not even listed. They went above and beyond, including providing some breakfast staples to get us started.
Amazing house in Inverness walking distance to city centre and restaurants. Only downfall if any was loud music from pub across the road but only on the Saturday night
This was our 2nd stay at Dunvegan-Inverness and it did not disappoint. A great home for families with children and a 5 minute walk to the city centre. We needed some assistance during our stay and the local property people were very responsive. One suggestion - the gardens need to be tended to. They were quite overgrown and made it somewhat difficult to use the front and side walkways.
Our party (5 adults) was very comfortable staying at Dunvegan-Inverness. The location is excellent. The host, David, sent very clear instructions in advance and a binder at the house provided all the information one might need about appliances etc. There was a welcome basket of treats which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel. The beds and bedding were comfortable; the bathrooms very clean; the kitchen well-stocked. We hope to go back someday! Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at Dunvegan house. Property is in an excellent location just a few minutes walk to the heart of Inverness. The only issue for us was parking. Although there was a pass for 8 spots behind the house they were seldom available. We had a large van which also made it difficult to fit into single spots. Other than that the house was spacious and well appointed. I would recommend this home to others for the location alone.
My husband and twin 12 year old daughters completely enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. We were happy to receive a welcome pack of food items and milk. The kitchen is well-equipped with great appliances and utensils. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and had adequate storage. The cottage is in easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. You are also a short walk to the Ness Islands, which we enjoyed exploring. I recommend the property whole-heartedly. David was a gracious and informative host.
I’ve stayed at many properties and having a welcome basket with treats and recommendations is common. This property out shines any I’ve stayed at with the thoughtfulness towards welcoming their guests. The “treats” gave me one less thing to stress over by including stuff for a yummy, kid- friendly breakfast, the recommendations included placed to visit, but also all the instructions on running appliances within the house. Coming from out of country this was beyond helpful! Attention to details is key to making a listing stand out from the rest. Thank you for hospitality!
Beautiful, Well-Appointed Home Steps from Inverness City Center
My wife and I stayed at this home for four nights. The home is very clean and modern, with some of the nicest furnishings we have encountered in our dozens of VRBO stays. That includes the living and dining room furniture, kitchen utensils, cookware and appliances, and bedding.
The location can’t be beat, being just steps from the many shops, bars, and restaurants in Inverness city center.
David Graham was an excellent host with perfect communication. Among other things, he found a local person for us, to drive us to the exact spots we wanted to see, hike, and/or run. The person David found for us was an important part of an overall wonderful visit to Inverness.
We highly recommend Dunvegan-Inverness if you are staying in Inverness!
We just returned from a 10-day trip to Scotland where we stayed in several fabulous VRBO properties, but David's Dunvegan is the best. Like other stellar properties, his lovely home is clean, comfortable and well appointed, but Dunvegan has a magical quality about it that I can't quite pinpoint but was noticeable nonetheless. Maybe it's the lovely garden gate and cottage garden that surrounds the home. Maybe it's the cozy snug with a contemplative view of the same garden. Maybe it's the sweeping views from the upstairs windows. Maybe it's the pub directly across the street that invites but does not intrude. It is definitely the house itself. Go and see for yourself. This is a lovely property.
This large home is located a short walk to city center and shopping and so many restaurants. The Host David was wonderful to work with. We had a slight issue checking in and reached out to him and he was quick to answer the phone and resolve our issue. The home is clean and warm and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked with every pot, pan or dish you should need. The beds are comfortable and the sheets were clean and fresh. The towels were large and plenty of them. The house has two sitting rooms each with its own couch and televisions. The only draw back is on Saturday night the music from the pub across the road played until 11pm.
Parking was easy and we had no issues with parking on the street behind the home. The flowers were in full bloom in the garden which was so nice. From the top floor dressing room you can see Inverness castle, which was a treat. The home truly gives you space, convenience and a wonderful hostess. This home is now part of our memories that we will cherish forever.
We enjoyed our stay in this house. It is very clean and well stocked. The baths were nice with plenty of hot water and large. Beds were comfortable. The location is very close to castle and city center. The issue is that it sits very high and you need to climb uneven steps to get to it with access only from front. Parking is on a busy street around back so you have to walk up and down steps to gain access or walk around the block. There is no unloading in front, so it is difficult at best to get luggage into house from the back on another street. Also the washer dryer was a combo. It did not work and our clothes actually got stuck because the door was broken and stuck shut. Our tour guide actually managed to get it open but the unit never worked. The manager was very nice and kind but not really any help with the machine issue. All and all we enjoyed our stay despite these issues. But the listing should be very very clear how difficult front access is. Anyone that has any difficulty walking or carrying things it will not work.
Our family of 5 absolutely loved this home in the historic district of Inverness. The home was very comfortable with lovely decor, and the owner provided all the right touches in the well equipped kitchen. David provided coffee and tea, bread, butter and jam as well as milk, which was so appreciated so we didn’t have to search for a grocery store. The bedrooms had beautiful linens and the modern bathrooms were great. There is a notebook full of useful information about the house, which was much appreciated. We arrived by train so needed a cab to drive us to the home. Renters should be aware that the front of the house is on a very busy street, where cars cannot stop, so you must approach from the street above. David provided good directions in his preliminary information, but I didn’t thoroughly read it until we arrived, so I suggest if you stay here, read carefully! We found it easier to roll our suitcases around the street up to the front rather than navigate down the steps from the street above with unwieldy luggage. The location was perfect, an easy walk into town and in the other direction along the river. The river walk is lovely. My only ding is that we were never able to get the washing machine door open and I really wanted to do some laundry, as we we in the middle of a long trip. David was responsive, but we were unfortunately never able to get the door open. Also, the view of the castle was a bonus, as we enjoyed the convenience of the pub right across the streat.
