Wonderful "Old Florida" setting on the St Johns River. The grounds are delightful with gorgeous views in every direction. Our daughter's wedding was held at Club Continental 24 years ago and we have sweet memories of the event. Weddings are a big part of their business, but they are also open for room rentals, such as we did over the 2026 Labor Day weekend. The dining experience on Friday night was excellent, as was the Sunday brunch. Our room overlooking the St Johns was large and comfortable and appeared little changed from 24 years ago.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. Views are great. Rooms were so nostalgic I loved it. Bed was comfortable. Pool was great too. Only thing I’d say is don’t expect a big breakfast its very light. Just eggs and a bread variety, fruit and yogurt. Overall a great place to stay.

CC is a national treasure. Its location on the West Bank of the St. John’s River and the shade of the massive old Live Oak trees help keep the outside cool in the hot summers of Northern Florida. The staff are very proud of the place and ensure that the guests are well taken care of, as well as the building and grounds. Keep in mind that this hotel is 103 years old, and it does show in some areas. However, the water pressure and heat in the showers are very good, the rooms are clean and well maintained, the grounds are exceptional and access is nearly effortless. The dinning is elegant, the food was delicious and professionally prepared, service was cordial, knowledgable and reliable. Oh yeah, the three pools and 7 tennis courts were very enjoyable. Bottom line: I recommend the Club Continental to anyone staying within an hour of it. You will not be disappointed.
