Our weekend stay was great. Sher made us feel right at home. We enjoyed spending time outside, either drinking coffe on the porch in the morning or grilling dinner at night. The home is beautiful and clean. We look forward to returning!
Where do we start? Awesome view overlooking the valley and mountains? The beautifully decor of the house?
We VRBO quite a bit and this was hands down our best find.
This was our 2nd time staying here! Clean cabin with everything you need. A great outdoor space including a firepit. My kids loved riding bike and playing in the shed. Private location but still conveniently close to town. We love to take our boat to the lake which is only about 20 minutes away. We also found lots of hiking and biking trails close by.
Sher’s property is as advertised - an amazing property nestled in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. The home itself was very clean and Sher left us some delicious tomatoes from their garden. The kitchen was clean and updated, with ample seating in the dining and living rooms. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the climate control was perfect. Bathrooms were stylish and cleaner than most rentals I’ve been in. In the evening you can enjoy a fire and watch the moonrise and look at stars, listening to the nature around you. Only a short drive to Beaver Stadium and on less traveled roads, resulting in a quick return post PSU football. We didn’t use the outdoor pole barn with grills and tables and games, but if we had more time we would’ve loved to! This home is a gem - I’d recommend it to anyone!
The property was very clean, maintained, stocked well, and has great views of the mountains. It accomodated our party of six just fine. Detached from the main house, there is huge covered area with a blackstone for grilling. There is also a firepit.Sher was a great host; communication was quick. The washing machine broke during our stay. She came over within a few minutes, offered to do our laundry, and had a repairman out the next morning. The property feels secluded, but is a short drive to many things. We found something to do for everybody in the party: plenty of creeks for fly fishing, nearby trails for hiking, horse back riding, strolling through the quaint town of Bellefonte, and of course everything State College has to offer. For awareness: There isn't a dishwasher, so bring paper products if you mind doing dishes. It wasn't an inconvenience for us at all. The driveway is a gravel road that is almost a mile long. It's steep. No problems for our van and small SUV. I'm not sure how a low riding sedan would handle it. I walked it for exercise. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next time!
House was beautiful - extremely clean and organized - absolutely loved the house! My only issue was getting up that driveway. Unless if I missed it somewhere - I did not realized I would be driving up that mountain with no side rail with basically a drop beside me. I was scarred out of my mind - my daughter would not even stay at the house because of it. Unfortunately it was graduation weekend at Penn State so there was no other option. I just wish I would have know that before I booked. Other than that - the house and communication was exceptional.
My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in August 2022 and had an amazing time. We were looking for peace and quiet and found it. After traveling the mile-long road up the mountain, you arrive at the house. There are no neighbors and a great view looking over to the mountain on the other side of Rt. 220. However, if you need anything such as gas or food, Sheetz Gas and Brothers Pizza is only 5-10 minutes away and Weis supermarket is approx. 15-20 minutes away. The house is cozy, well kept, very clean, and has all the amenities that one could need. The owner's personal touches to the house were also very nice and atmospheric. The mile-long gravel road is well kept, and we had no issues traveling it back and forth. We sat on the covered porch every night and listened to all the night sounds (katydids, Chuck-Wills Widows, occasional fox "screams", etc.) and now that we are back home we are going to miss these sounds. Bald Eagle State Park and Black Moshannon State Parks are only about a half-hour away (but in opposite directions). We also took a day trip to Penn State and the ride there was very easy and around 30 minutes away.
Communication with Sher was above and beyond, and she responded timely to the few questions that we had. I highly recommend this house if you are just looking to get away and spend time relaxing.
My Crew had a great stay at your cabin. They loved the atmosphere at the place. Very cozy and peaceful, they love the area and view of the outside. Definitely will set up my crew here again. Thank you so much for hospitality.
This is a beautiful home that sits by itself up on the side of a mountain. An easy drive to PSU, it makes a perfect gathering spot if, as we were, you're staying overnight for a football game. Conscientious owner communicates as you'd hope and keeps a clean house with everything in place for you. No unpleasant surprises or disappointments. If we ever make this trip again and the home's available, I won't bother to check other listings. We'll book here.
We had a wonderful time at Hidden Ridge for a Penn State football weekend! The location is fantastic and convenient to everything we wanted to do for the weekend. It was great to come back in the evening and warm up by the woodstove after being outside all day! We will hopefully be planning a return trip soon!
Fantastic property, house and host! We could not have been happier with our PSU parents weekend visit. We will definitely look to stay again in the future.
My family enjoyed this amazing home and the privacy was unbeatable! The view was spectacular and the home is very much updated! We hope to visit again.
Property was great as was the communication from owner. We were there for a school visit and a football game. We had a great weekend and were very comfortable at this property.
Sher is a great host. We had four adults and three kids for a football weekend. Great views, clean, fairly new house with user friendly outdoor amenities. Property sits very high on a ridge. Will definitely stay here again if it’s available.
This home is on a beautiful expansive piece of property. The setting is extremely private and you will not see any neighbors. The house was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the beautiful views of nature.
We stayed here before The White Out, and we loved it. It was myself and 4 of my buddies. We picked up steaks at Nittany Meats, and cooked out on the grill. The lighting was fantastic in the area with the grill. Great kitchen for making the rest of the meal, and a great table for eating. Overall the place was extremely clean, and very updated. Arriving as the sun was setting with an amazing autumn view of the valley and mountains was fantastic. Nice yard to toss around the ball. The place feels extremely secluded, however the drive to the stadium was great. Sher was amazing with communication, and a wonderful host. I would highly recommend it to others.
