Louis Althea Beach Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Louis hotels always seem to have great food. Although there is just the one buffet restaurant used for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the range of food available is superb and always of the highest quality. How many other AI hotels could you go to and have mussels twice in a 4 day stay, each dish different and beautifully prepared. The seafood terrine in the salad section for lunch on day 2 was amazing, and the carvery choices on Sunday evening really were excellent. Also, all the desserts are proper dishes, not the flavourless sponge and jelly and catering cream with 5 different bright but tasteless coloured toppings you get in most AI restaurants. These were true desserts like strawberry mousse, tiramisu cake, chocolate and caramel gateaux etc. Away from the food, both pool areas were clean with plenty of sunbeds and sunshades. It would have been nice to have some waiter service around the beds. The grass area at the bottom of the main pool by the coast path was great to stop at. You can access both the beach and the main pool and you get extra shade from the palms and some more breeze. Despite what people say about the room conditions, ours was fully functional and clean. The decor is a little tired however all the lights, taps and sockets work, the kitchenette area was very well equiped and we had a corner room (upgraded) which stayed very cool and shaded. Finally, we would have liked a bar option separate from the entertainment area and all the staff are very friendly."

"The food was excellent and there was a wide variety of different dishes to sample every evening. The local Cypriot staff were very friendly, welcoming and always ready to assist, namely Stella, Despina, Pambos, Yiangos and Andreas. The dining hall is modern, clean and spacious. The hotel has several swimming pools and waterparks. The local beaches are very nice with crystal clear waters. The scenic coastal footpath to Protaras is impressive and wheelchair friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel."

"September 17th arrived late, reception gentleman very helpful. We had a superior sea view, the bed was comfortable, great night sleep first night. On the first morning breakfast was lovely usual choice or pancakes. It's busy quite noisy. We noticed people queuing for sunbeds, some runners either adauts pool or family pool we found some beds slightly away from the pool on the grass area not a lot available, it was extremely busy.food around the bar area nuggets, chips, pie, fish finger's chewy nit for us. Lunch in the main lunch room was lovely, a choice in wine, bear, coke that's it, but the wine was very acidic personally not for me you needed to pay £6 for a decent drink. Dinner to theres lots of choices but very noisy. Evening entertainment always on point, always was great engaging fun , very friendly. There a wedding mostly ever day, this was Cypriot so then can have wedding till late, as they wish, we had it till l2.45am so no sleep, we did speak with someone in the morning, but he said it's normal, but normal entertainment finnishes at 11, pm, so if you have a sea view good luck as venue is right next door. Regarding our rooms tiny milk pots enough for 1 drink, we was told to ask reception for extra? but a blonde female not accommodating and questioning ? would only give enough for another? i travelled with others they said they wouldn't return, as we found that no alcohol in anything. Spa 5+ cherry amazing. Entertainment team 5 +"

"The Villa was a perfect place to relax we were there for three weeks for our daughters wedding and our 50th anniversary, the housekeeping team are exceptional we did not expect to have this service in a villa, we can’t thank you enough for a wonderful holiday, the private pool was amazing,definitely recommend to everyone, perfect location for all the restaurants and beeches, lots of activities close by, easy access to other places by taxi. We hope to return very soon."

"The property was really lovely, in a nice, quiet area. The pool, and area, was absolutely perfect. The villa was really clean and spacious, with a little bit of general wear, which did not affect the overall cleanliness of the property. It was a short walk to the beach, supermarket and a lovely, family-run restaurant. There is only one set of keys, which are kept in a holder by the front door, just don't walk out without them, or you cant get back in. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again."
