"This place made our 5 year anniversary the most special trip ever. This was our 3rd time to Hawaii but first to Big. The staff was always helpful regarding resort or local activities and was always really friendly. They did some special stuff for us to make us feel even more welcome and to celebrate our anniversary. The resort felt very clean and they cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels several times a day. Browns and Hale Kai were particular standouts while the other restaurants offered some nice views. It’s a short 40 min to Kona, close to Waikoloa resort and village, close to Waimea and Hāwī. All in all, I don’t think I would consider staying anywhere else on Big."

"We had a short but lovely stay here, wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful views and Mitsuko was so welcoming and kind, and brought us a fresh fruit breakfast in the morning! Also very accommodating when we had a late check-in"

"The cottage was clean and comfortable. The beds were great. The kitchen was well supplied with everything. David the host was cheerful and helpful. Lovely location on a quiet street with access to hidden gem beaches. The air conditioning was perfect!"

Ocean Front Home with a Sandy Beach

"The beach view is excellent. The laundry, dishwasher, stove and oven work great. Two refrigerators are very handy. Beach towels, bath towels and linens are excellent. Parking off street is great. The house has many comfortable sitting areas inside and out. Working with the host was excellent. Star gazing is excellent. Neighborhood is very quiet. There is access to several beaches in Puako and there are many turtle sightings.The home needs a deep cleaning and some plumbing leaks addressed. A working ice maker in the refrigerator would be helpful. Some general handyman work is needed to fix the sliding glass door to lanai which needs a new roller to slide well, fix a ceiling fan in the 1st bedroom and the shower head in main house bathroom which has very poor pressure, The screens on the windows and doors were in excellent shape. Bugs and cockroaches are present in Hawaii but I think a deep cleaning would help."

"It was fun to have the option bikes however, none of the bike tires held air. It would have been nice to have shampoo in the showers and more seating in the living room. Otherwise, wonderful accommodations!"
