Rashiku is a lovely hotel is a very quiet location in this historic district. The staff are helpful and the rooms very comfortable. They recommended excellent local restaurants. My only issue was that no breakfast is provided and there is an extremely limited local options outside.
Beautiful brand new boutique hotel in the middle of Higashi Chaya district. Large architecturally interesting rooms with high end material finishes, and attention to detail. Great bathroom.
Daily turn down amenity in the fridge. Great coffee/tea station. Anything you’d expect in a 5 star hotel.
Having travelled all my life, I’ve never had a hotel host as accommodating as Mitsunobu. Excellent restaurant reservations, bus reservations, personally drove us to the station because there weren’t taxis around in the rain. The hotel was great but Mitsu was amazing.
Great location in the geisha district! Beautiful hotel and excellent service! We left on a very early train and couldn’t get a taxi so the front desk person drove us to the train station!
this was a great choice. very walkable. we had great dinners nearby. close to a bus stop. we used Go app for cabs and they were always there within 5 minutes
A beautiful place to stay, right next to the historic Higashi Chaya District. The front desk was incredibly responsive and helpful, including booking dinner and transport for us that would otherwise have been difficult for non-Japanese speakers. Highly recommend.
Very central to everything. Large, well appointed rooms with great bath amenities. The pyjamas were an added bonus. Very clean. The staff was super friendly.
We had a wonderful time, our room is comfortable, clean, and surprisingly spacious!! It was very quiet in the evening and overnight, slept well on a comfortable bed. The hotel is very close to the Higashi Chaya District and about a 20 min walk from the station on the flat, so definitely walkable with luggage. The staff at the hotel were super friendly and really went above and beyond, sorting out luggage forwarding for us that made travelling onward much easier! We did opt for breakfast which is delivered in a bento box, it was delicious though closer to a lunch than a breakfast, but good value for money!
The staff made the trip. The hotel is in the old geisha neighborhood but within walkable distance of the other attractions : castle, gardens, samurai houses and fish market. Nothing was too much trouble for Mitsu and he helped with restaurants and directions.
Kanazawa was great.
The room was clean, the location was amazing in the historic district and the local Japanese treats upon arrival was a nice touch. The staff is great, the person at the front desk tried to help us get a taxi during rush hour and was not having luck so he personally drove us to the train station. AMAZING customer service!!
The staff was really friendly and kind. The property is located in a very traditional area that might get a little bit crowded during the day but after that is very quiet and convenient to visit the rest of the city.
If you like to take photos, I'd recommend to get up early to get some nice shots of the empty streets before the shops open.
I am not sure what to write. Location perfect for sightseeing, free parking, spacious room (the suite), quiet (good sleep) and clean. Communication with owner upfront good. We had a request for a more continental breakfast and it was hard to explain. Must say, staff tried their best to meet our wishes. Bed was a bit hard for us, but that is personal taste. In the end nothing to complain and a lot of pro’s but we didn’t feel it, but no cons so if you search in this location, this is a good hotel to book. .
Everything was spotless, in the room and in the public areas. The front desk people were so helpful, especially Mr. Matsunobu. He suggested local yakitori restaurants, helped us book a high-end sushi bar, and even gave us free tickets to the neighbourhood bathhouse. When we asked for late checkout, the hotel was kind enough to let us stay past the deadline without extra charge. Every day there was a surprise treat in the minibar - a local sweet, sometimes decorated with gold leaf, a Kanazawa speciality.
Very nice and pleasant small hotel in one of the historic areas. Helpful staff. Good size from. Separate toilet and bath. Best bed I've had until now. Breakfast in the room in a self heating box. Maybe because there were few guests as we visited in the winter. Highly recommend. Only downside is the location with fewer restaurants and 700 m to the closest conbini. No coin laundry at the hotel, but two within a few hundred meters.
I had booked a standard twin room, but was upgraded to a suite free of charge.
The exterior looked like an old wooden house, but the entrance, reception, and room interior were all lovely, and the design strongly reflected Kanazawa culture.
After checking in, Japanese sweets and matcha were brought to my room as a service, which made me feel very welcome.
Higashi Chaya District is just a short walk away, and it is also easily accessible to Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Garden, Omicho Market, and more, with many delicious restaurants and famous shops nearby.
It was in a wonderful location amidst a historic townscape, and I would love to visit again.
Very comfortable stay, quiet and most beautiful area with lots to walk to from coffee, restaurants and shops in the geisha area with stunning scenery. Great shower and bathroom, comfortable bed and Mitsukawa provided everything and anything that might have been missing like ice, iron.
Getting to Hotel is not easy due to Hotels.com and Goigle Maps. If you put Rashiku in Google maps you get all Japanese characters. Not useful. Hotels.com does not provide the address in Japanese so taxi doesnot know how to get there. Had to use Google translate to say address in Japanese. Hotel itself is great!!!
