The team at the inn were very welcoming. Our dinner at the restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The location for Kandersteg was perfect! The water in the shower would stop and run cold with every shower. Someone was in our room when we left for the day and left their drink and crackers behind. The staff was friendly and food very good!
Historic wooden hotel that's on UNESCO list. I loved seeing how people lived, even though it meant going to third floor on an old wooden staircase. The rooms are so interesting, with a side room with a third bed reachable by a secret staircase. The food cooked at the restaurant was so good, traditional Swiss food. Very friendly staff, dressed in traditional folklore dresses.
Lovely stay in this fabulous, old, rustic alpine farmhouse restored into a lovely hotel with modern guest rooms that are decorated in the old alpine style and appointed with traditional alpine style furnishings. The common areas, restaurant spaces and exterior are in good original condition with hand carved and painted details, hand wrought hardware and antique clocks and accessories. Polite and efficient service, clean and quiet rooms and hearty breakfast made for a wonderful stay.
Very rustic. Food and service were great. Bed was comfortable. Pleasant outdoor dining area. If you're tall, this is not the place for you. This very old building has seriously tiny doors and very low ceilings.
This hotel is a magical dream. The staff is incredibly kind and very professional. The decor is so special and the views in all directions are wonderful. The cows with bells in the pasture next to us was a beautiful sound. This is one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve ever had. Now I am dying to stay again in the winter and go cross country skiing.
I had hoped to not post this, but the attitude of the owners has given me no choice. I made a reservation and was excited to come stay at this guesthouse (it is in an amazing location, obviously).
About 3 weeks before my planned stay I was told by my doctor that I would need surgery and that the only time he could do the surgery was in the middle of my planned vacation to the Landgasthof Ruedihus. I immediately contacted the property to let them know of this change and that I would need to cancel my reservation. They would have had time to have someone else book the room that I had reserved. They flat out refused my cancellation request, saying that I would be required to pay the full amount as I had agreed in my initial reservation. No room for negotiation, no empathy, just a “nope, sorry about your situation, better luck next time.”
I fully understand charging the full amount when a person cancels on the day they were supposed to arrive, but this notice was provided 3 weeks in advance. Most hotels and guest houses that have ethical owners would have no issue not charging, thus I was taken aback by their rude and unprofessional approach to my very reasonable medical cancellation.
It is clear that the owners of this property do not care about their clients. As they do not care about the wellbeing of their customers, I would highly recommend not staying here, regardless of how beautiful the scenery around the location is. The owners are completely unprofessional.
Absolutely loved this guest house/hotel. We don't normally stay in guest houses but we're so glad we did this time. It's so cosy, extremely clean and the service was fantastic. The food was also excellent quality and quick. Our table for breakfast was waiting for us with our room number, we had eggs made fresh for us and the most delicious cup of tea. The beds were really comfortable too. It's in a beautiful setting and to wake up in the morning, look out of the window at the stunning mountains was wonderful. We also used the lovely spa at the sister hotel opposite - Waldhotel Doldenhorn.
We especially loved the rustic Alpine charm of the hotel.

This place was magnificent! Absolutely stunning! Kandersteg is already packed with so much wonder and then you throw this beautiful hotel in the mix it was the cherry on top! Will most definitely be back and recommend 10/10!
Everything about this hotel is so charming. The building is old and beautiful, carved and painted with German inscriptions. Inside the downstairs restaurant is intimate and felt like stepping into an old tavern from 1600 and the food was delicious and filling.
Room was on the other hand modern, spacious and light filled. Amazing sleep after a long day hiking.
Service was friendly and welcoming.
My husband and I roadtripped all over Switzerland for our honeymoon and Landgasthof Ruedihus was by far our favorite place to stay. The chalet is absolutely breathtaking and exquisitely preserved. Staying there felt like traveling back in time...in luxury. The rooms were beautifully appointed and cozy and the customer service was like nothing we've experienced before. The hotel even had a daily "newspaper" that outlined menus, activities, and more for the day. Not only was the property absolutely stunning, it is walled by the most gorgeous mountains after all, but it also had the added benefit of being across the street from its sister property, the Waldhotel Doldenhorn. The breakfast there was incredibly delicious and the resort itself is gorgeous. We spent the entire day at their luxurious spa and topped it all off with freshly-baked cakes during tea time (complimentary). All in all, I have nothing but rave reviews about this place and I am eager to return with my whole family. We highly recommend it for the ultimate relaxing getaway amidst the still majesty of the mountains.
Gammel bygning med charme - vi oplevede dog strømafbrydelse på værelset. Var gode til at håndtere allegener - måtte dog køre efter glutenfri brød til morgenmad
