This is a great hotel at the top of Thamel, close to all of the shops, bars and restaurants.
I had a room with a balcony which was nice.
There’s a spa with great massages, and a small pool area as well as outside terrace to enjoy food or drinks.
Rajila and Vijay were friendly and professional, and looked after me well.
This will be my first choice next time I’m in Kathmandu
The staff at Hotel Manang was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The security guard at the gate always greeted me with a smile and warm welcome, the doorman was friendly, and the rest of the staff at the staff was the same way. The renovation of the first floor is nearly finished, and I am impressed with how nice the hotel is. The restaurant also has delicious food and a surprisingly good mixed Western-Asian breakfast.
Convenient location and very friendly and helpful staff. A perfect base for exploring Kathmandu's and the surrounding area, and as a staging post for travelling onward in Nepal for trekking etc.
While the service is good and friendly, I was given a old room. There’s a smell from the toilet so you have to close the toilet door. The carpets are old. The room lighting is insufficient so the room is rather dark. Old bedsheets with an old stain. Not many tv channels to watch especially English channels. My Friend was given a newly renovated room which is nicer and cleaner do I believe given time when the renovations are fully completed, the rooms would be better. Breakfast is average with dry looking bread.

Hotel's lift is under renovation now so I gave up my room on the 5th floor and took the lower floor to save my legs.
For ladies stayer with long hair, please bring own conditioner and air dryer. You can get hair dryer from front desk but there's hardly any hot air and the plug is unsafe. Toilet has a musty smell.
Some rooms have toilets with bathtub which is impt for me as I hate water from the shower wetting the floor around the seating throne. It's terrible to have that during winter.
The staff there are however very helpful. Location is great too
The staff are very friendly and helpful making the stay really enjoyable.

It was booked as 'non-smoking' because I have severe allergies but the room was clearly not. I could not stay the night and asked for a full refund. The staff was kind and helpful to secure me another hotel.
The property is very very poorly maintained and the cleanliness of the rooms was very bad. The first room they gave me had dirty pillows with no pillow covers. On complaining, they shifted me to a bigger room. The linens were clean but the floor, bathrooms and area rugs looked like they have never been cleaned since day one of this hotel. On complaining, they were again going to shift to another room which I was too tired to do and also didn't expect any miracles in the room.
We changed rooms the first night because street noise from scooters revving, to people puking outside, to just random people walking by having a loud conversation.
Service is just not there, wife asked for a hair dryer 2 days in a row with 3rd day it showed up only because we were changing hotels. They turn heat off in room around 10am and don't turn it back on until the evening. The windows let a steady stream of cold air through . It's noticeable that hotel has some age. Not recommended for cold weather visit
welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. very convenient on the edge of the thamel district easy access but also fairly quiet

Nice hotel close to Darbar square
We stayed at this hotel in 1 st week of Jun,17.Our stay was comfortable.Terrace dinning with mountains on the background is the memory which will cherish for long. The hotel travel desk excellently organised our three day of sight seeing in and around Kathmandu.Hotel Staff and specially the manager was extremely courteous and helping. We would again like to stay in the same hotel in near future.

needs a good renovation..
the hotel at the end of Thamel but walkable to the eateries...The staff were very friendly and helpful service..But the rooms were dark and musty..bathroom was clean but had funny smell.,though they upgraded our rooms , the rooms had very few amenities...
We stayed for one night, thinking that the hotel is close to Thamel and will be helpful for shopping. However, we did not have good experience with the hotel. The electricity was not available did not work until 5 hours of our checking in. Even though we booked for a super delux room which was supposed to be the best in the hotel, no body paid heed to the status of the room. After a lot of hustle with the hotel manager, we could get a good room for one night. The hotel staff was extremely down to earth and helped us get things for our kid of 2 years. The restaurant however, was a very good experience, the staff was extremely helpful. Though the food is not great at all and the breakfast is better not to eat, they served Indian food for us specifically to make us comfortable. Overall, I suggest that though the hotel is next door to the shopping area; it is better to verify with the hotel on their basic facility before booking this hotel.
