About this property
3 Bed in Keswick (oc-sz407)
Derwentwater is a fantastic base for family holidays, offering two marinas, canoe and rowing boat hire and popular cruises. Surrounding the lake is a welcoming cafe, a picturesque walled garden, friendly pub, and the bustling market town of Keswick, just 2 miles from the property. Here you will find a host of independent shops and eateries to explore including a celebrated bookshop and seasonal Victorian Fayre and Christmas Market. For cyclists, Whinlatter Forest, 3.5 miles away, offers a wealth of adventurous trails as well, while excellent road cycling can be enjoyed along the Honister, Newlands and Whinlatter passes. After a busy day, return to the village of Portinscale for a hearty meal in the dog-friendly local pub.
Inside, this recently renovated property is spacious, light and elegantly finished with stylish contemporary-style furnishings and a carefully coordinated colour palette. Spend quality time together in the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner, which opens through large, glazed doors into the garden, creating an al fresco feel all year round. The modern kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, microwave, induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine (remember to bring your own pods with you). Enjoy a glass of wine at the breakfast bar or admire the mountain view from the sofa before enjoying home-cooked meals at the extending dining table. The separate lounge is a cosy space for warming up after a long walk, with its wood burner, Smart TV and large bay window. Also on the ground floor is a handy utility area with a washing machine and a bathroom with walk-in shower and elegant free-standing bath - perfect for soothing tired muscles at the end of the day. Upstairs are three serene bedrooms, one king-size with a large bay window and views of Derwentwater, one super-king-size which can be made as a twin on request. This room has views towards Skiddaw. There is also double overlooking the beautiful mountain range. A modern shower room with a large waterfall shower completes this lovely property.
To the front of this property, comfortable sofas offer stunning views towards Catbells and Causey Pike - a picturesque perch for unlacing your boots after a busy day. Meanwhile, to the rear, everyone is catered for in the lovely garden complete with dining furniture, a BBQ, warm outside tap and wooden shed for storing bikes. There is off-road parking for up to three cars.
