This is a wonderful experience! The room is nice and tidy with a city view. Though it's close to the train station, but you don't hear anything at all! The dinner was perfect!
This place is perfectly nestled right behind the railway station (2mins up hill). Inside the hotel it is a little dated in the rooms but you won’t be spending much time there anyways! They offered both an outdoor onsen and an indoor onsen-sauna area with generous opening hours. It let me explore the surrounding area until late in the evening because I knew the onsen facilities would still be open and available! They have a free beverages inside the hotel alongside a few vending machines, but they’re also just 2 minutes away from a family mart. The breakfast included was quite nice! Good variety of foods with some unique offerings like steam your personal size tofu and grill your own personal portion of fish! Overall, I highly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this stay!

Liked: Cleanliness
We visited Arima Onsen in Golden Week (by accident!). So both hotel and the town itself were super busy. We were probably the only ‘westerners’ in the hotel. This is v much a Japanese hotel. Only a handful of the signs were in English and none of the staff could speak any English. Breakfast was a feast for the Japanese and rather pathetic excuse for a breakfast if you didn’t want to eat fish and other traditional Japanese breakfast foods. Non Japanese breakfast was some packaged croissants, sweet yoghurts, tinned fruit. There was ham sausages and Japanese omelette but we are vegetarian so coukd only eat the egg. The onsen, which I guess is what made the rooms so expensive, is not huge and I was the only non Japanese person in there w no instructions in English (luckily I’d been to one before so knew the score). The hotel is a bit shabby and dated but it’s v central to the town and the rooms are spacious, but the beds are very hard! A v disappointing and expensive stay.
Perfect hotel. Location was next to the train station which is a must in this hilly town. Property nice and clean. Food was excellent. Kaiseki dinner with meat was tasty and filling. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the outdoor onsen was closed. Indoor onsen was large and had a variety of pools. Overall a memorable stay and I highly recommend this hotel.
