Motel Gavlhuset

"The room was clean and ready for us when we got there. Being from America, we were a little confused about the address and at first ended up in the town Norager. But then we put in the exact address of the motel and found it 15 minutes away in Haverslev within the municipality of Norager, We never had personal contact with the staff. We communicated with them by email. They gave us the code to our room the morning of the day of our check-in. We were traveling with limited Internet, so the fact that we got it in the morning of our previous hotel stay was perfect. We were able to get the room code right before we lost internet service. The motel is located right off the freeway exit. We were able to use our stay as a central location to other places we wanted to see. It was about an hour away from the area Frederikshavn and Skagen. There are a few fast food eateries close by; Burger King, McDonald’s and a couple of local grills. We were excited about a McDonald’s close by since breakfast was not included with our stay. However the McDonald’s in Denmark don’t have much of a breakfast menu and the don’t open until 8:00. One morning we had McDonald’s, and the next morning we got pastries from the Circle K across the street. Burger King was not open for breakfast."

"Vi havde en dejlig overnatning på hotellet. Vi spiste i restauranten til aften og morgenmad og var glade for kvaliteten af maden. Rengøringen kunne godt være bedre. Badeforhænget trænger til en udskiftning og afstøvningen af værelset kunne være grundigere. Værelset var ret lydt. Hotellet var udover de par ting rigtigt fint med gammeldags charme og vi var glade for opholdet."

"The breakfast buffet was awesome with great quality and variety. We liked the pool very much with a sauna area - the trapezoid-shaped pool has got a very good size in length and width and is well maintained. A little minibar in the room with at least a bottle of water would have been nice."

"A lovely and very cozy log cabin with plenty of outdoor space. The cabin is equipped with everything you need. Lots of games and toys for children. Located in beautiful, scenic surroundings at the end of a quiet road. Highly recommended."

"The Hotel was beautiful,and the grounds were amazing. one of the best hotels we have stayed in , I would of gave a star rating of 5 but the window and blind in the skylight wasn't working that was the only thing wrong , we had a wonderful stay and we would definitely book again."
