We absolutely loved our stay at Enso, the rooms where emaculate and comfortable with all the required amenities. My favourite was the scented wooden tub to soak in after a day exploring the sites of Kyoto. We were so lucky to have the incredible staff Leo and Tetsu dealing with all our enquires and also providing us with local knowledge of places to see and eat at. Made our visit and stay in Kyoto that much more special! It is a strong recommend if you are considering staying here. It won't disappoint.

Spacious and good staff. Close to Nijo Castle. Need Uber to go out, its located amongst residential houses 10-15mins drive from main attractions. Very clean, very pretty, traditional accommodation with inner court yard.

Enso Machiya was the perfect place to relax in a quiet neighborhood and explore Kyoto. The room was spacious and well laid out with all amenities that could be thought of. A great blend of traditional, modern features and technology. The shower was amazing; the pine tub was great. The highest compliment goes to the awesome and helpful team of people at Enso Machiya. They were friendly, polite and very helpful in all matters. Walked to temples; short taxi to castle; ate in the area and an easy walk to/from metro and a coin laundry. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Arigato. Okini. Great hospitality.

A very lovely place to stay! The staff were always friendly and ready to help at a moments notice. One thing I will say, the closest station is a 16 minute walk, but as someone who enjoys being on their feet it didn't make a difference in my opinion at all. Would recommend heavily if you'd like to feel at home in Kyoto!

The room was a bit dusty & only separated from the reception by a sliding door. We didn’t feel like there was a lot of privacy & could hear the receptionist (talking/ sweeping etc.) very clearly. There was ”casual” cleaning during the stay, and the one day we didn’t get asked and answer that we wished for them to clean, they didn’t which was annoying.
