Short stay in the winter

Travelled off season, it was a short stay but the hotel staff were very welcoming and left us to our devices. A very quiet time and stay. Would come back.

Lots of steps, quirky and very good

Quirky hotel. Good service very clean, does not offer dinner but very good restaurants are nearby. Lots of uneven steps so not suitable for everyone. Enjoyed our stay

Such a beautiful quaint facility very close to southernmost point. Hotel was older but really charming. Fantastic views! Guys particularly loved the cigar room with fireplace!

Expensive but good.

Lots to like about this hotel. Clean, comfortable, lovely views out over the Indian Ocean, beautiful lounge/bar/cigar room. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful soaking tub in the suite. Nice, small patio. It was expensive but good.

Charming and personal

This spectacular stone building is just a couple of kilometers from the southernmost tip of Africa. Excellent sea views, very comfortable rooms. We stayed here for one night on our way back to Cape Town from a Garden Route roadtrip. It’s a small detour, but well worth it. From here, it’s a 2-2.5 hours drive to Cape Town airport. Beautiful and quiet surroundings – the whole area has a nice, laidback feel to it. Personal and hassle-free reception and check-in. The lodge has a nice bar, resembling a british pub, on the first floor. There’s also a cigar room. They serve a white-linen, three course dinner which is great and good value. Just come hungry though, as portions are huge. Excellent wine selection as well. Highly recommended.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great last minute find! Beautiful lodge boasting rooms with character. We opted for the honeymoon suite to get the jacuzzi tub and I loved relaxing in the tub while looking at the Indian Ocean! Wish our travel plans would have allowed us to stay a second night!

nice lodge overlooking the sea

Great location, friendly staff. Had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant and the food was great. on the downside they cancelled our dinner reservation the next evening as the chefs were unwell....breakfast the next morning was also then not very well presented. Overall a nice stay and a great location for long walks with beautiful scenery

Honeymoon-Suite war sehr enttäuschend

Wir haben eine Nacht in der im Vergleich zu anderen Zimmern etwas teureren Honeymoon-Suite gebucht und waren sehr enttäuscht. Insgesamt roch es sehr modrig/feucht, zudem war das Zimmer sehr dunkel eingereichter, lag am Ende der Gesamtanlage, hatte einen kleinen Balkon mit Blick ins Grüne. Der Balkon des Nachbarzimmers lag direkt neben an, ohne Abschirmung etc. Das Badezimmer aus sehr dunklem Stein und ein kleines Fenster mit Blick auf eine Felswand (direkt vor dem Fenster). Wir haben uns nicht wirklich wohl, geborgen gefühlt und mit dem Gedanken an Romantik im Sinne von Honeymoon hatte das gar nichts zu tun. Was positiv ist: das Personal ist freundlich, die Unterkunft sauber und das Essen schmeckt.
