"This was an unusual place to stay overnight on our way further South in Spain. The location was accurately given by both Google Maps and Waze. You have to trust them as the approach looks a bit unlikely as you get nearer. May be tricky if arriving in the dark. "We loved the position of this hotel that was close to everything you want to see in the old town and the restaurants too. The staff were extremely helpful. Our room on the 7th floor had a very compact bathroom and when the door was opened it caught the knees and toes of the person sitting in the toilet behind. "The parador is in a splendid position overlooking the planes around Jaen. The interior of the parador is fantastic and rooms are superb! We deducted 1 star as we thought the food in the parador is at best ok and expensive for what it is but it’s definitely worth a stay for a night"

"This was by far one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff asked for credit card numbed over WhatsApp before I even arrived. Nobody told me there wouldn’t be hot water until I found out myself and asking, the room was disgusting, smelled of smoke, trash and standing water in the shower from the previous guest. Somehow the room was blistering hot despite it being December and the AC didn’t work. "
