Great location, but check-in process was stressful*
I booked this property during off-season and paid over $600CAD, expecting a smooth stay. The communication with Helen beforehand was prompt, and she provided check-in instructions via email, which I appreciated since I don’t use WhatsApp while traveling.
However, the self-check-in system failed on arrival. The keypad on the safe locker didn’t respond after multiple attempts, and with no 24/7 reception and no phone service on my eSIM, I had no way to contact anyone. I was left outside my booked room in a place I didn’t know, which was very stressful.
Eventually the issue was resolved, but the lack of backup support for a paid, unstaffed check-in is a serious problem. For the price point, I expected either working self-check-in or guaranteed staff availability at check-in time.
I’d recommend this place only if you’re confident the locker system works and you have a local phone number. The hotel should add a backup contact and test the lockers regularly.
