What a Northwoods gem! This was our second stay at Sue's cabin and we will be back again! Fishing was great, the lake was quiet, the location is perfect. Very secluded but close enough to run in to town for necessities.
My family and I had a terrific stay at Susan's place. Check-In was a breeze and the location is stunning.
The drive in to the cabin is an adventure but it is worth it. Fishing is great and the cabin has everything you could need.
Unbeatable beautiful, peaceful lake views. Great cottage space. Owner was super nice and accommodating. A little bit remote from other area activities/attractions ( which was exactly what I was looking for).
We stayed at Sue’s cabin for 3 nights. Such a lovely place. It has 6 beds, liss of fun water stuff to keep you busy and is in a remote spot away from others. The lake is quiet. The number of hummingbirds saw is unbelievable. The cabin smelled so good, was super clean and just a lovely home away from home. We will be back.
Enjoyed this weekend getaway with adult children. Beautiful place and plenty of room for everyone. Had fun fishing even though we did not catch anything. Canoed/kayaked to Big Crooked Lake loved the enchanting connection to lake. The weather was a little rainy and chilly but the gnome search and hide kept us all entertained! The road in is a little challenging but once at hummingbird Haven you do not want to leave!
Sue’s cabin is a perfect getaway. The location is beautiful and removed from the typical up north hub bub. Views of the lake from the cabin are so relaxing. The lake is lovely for swimming and paddling and the Lilly pad, dock and swimming platform are all great. We appreciated being able to shift into 4-wheel drive on the long driveway. The kitchen is well stocked and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Sue is a great communicator.
I’ve stayed in several cabins Up North over my lifetime, and this is the best one! It’s more beautiful, indoors and out, than photos can show. It’s immaculate, spacious, yet perfectly comfortable. It’s wheelchair friendly so everyone can feel right at home.
We felt like we had the whole lake and woods all to ourselves. Sue is an excellent host! She even provided us with extra peanuts to feed the chipmunks, who will eat right out of your hand.
The last bit of road on the way to the cabin is rough, but worth the journey. Once you get there, you’ll never want to leave, anyway! We’ll be going back as soon as we can.
Overall, it was a great stay! The cabin was clean and cozy, even better than in the pictures. Kitchen and grill were well stocked with all the basic cooking utensils and dishes, etc.
The lake itself is beautiful and quiet with only a handful of homes. It's also loaded with fish (bluegill, crappie, bass). The canoes and kayaks on site were a great bonus.
Outdoor area and fire pit were also very pleasant, although the mosquitoes were pretty aggressive, as expected.
The owner lives on site about 30 yards away from the cabin, but maintained privacy during our stay. Was quick to answer any questions and was overall very friendly and accommodating.
Only downsides were that guests were required to bring their own bedding and carry out their own trash. And, as others have mentioned, the driveway is an issue. Would not recommend for vehicles with low ground clearance.
Overall, a wonderful option for a quiet getaway!
Beautiful location and very peaceful. The cabin is very well kept and the lake was wonderful for fishing and swimming. The lily pad, kayaks, and boat were perfect for exploring the lake. My kids loved unplugging for a few days and had a great time.
A group of long-time friends and I came for our annual fishing trip (our 2nd straight year coming here). We had a great time enjoying the outdoors, the quiet, and catching a whole lot of bass!
Really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend.
Beautiful cabin set on a private lake with abundant fishing and forest setting. Our family had a relaxing weekend enjoying the lake by swimming and fishing. Sue was a fantastic host and the cabin had everything we needed. We had access to a paddle board, double kayak, paddle boat and canoe for exploring the lake and flowage. Also, the kids enjoyed fishing from the dock and swimming off the floating platform. Driveway is an adventure, but once you drove in, it was easier coming and going. Our family had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful property.
Great fishing on the lake.
Plenty of room!
Well equipped kitchen.
Very remote location.
Only downsides were the rough terrain of driveway and host/owner being onsite in a pop up was weird
Sue keeps a well stocked cabin. Anything we could have wanted and more! Great hospitality and an easy stay. Only note the driveway does need a 4x4 car or truck but it was majestic, private and felt like we had the lake to ourselves. Best fishing I've had in a long while! Crappie, bass and bluegill were the most caught. Thank you would stay again!
A small group of longtime friends got together for a 3-day weekend of fishing. An excellent time was had by all. We had good luck catching fish (particularly some big largemouth bass).
The cabin and location did not disappoint at all. A quiet and beautiful area! The host Sue was wonderful to work with and was quick to answer any question or help needed. Will definitely be returning in the future!
Sue's cabin was the perfect location for our fall getaway, especially this year. It is one of the most secluded spots we've ever been. Sue was right on the property, and available whenever needed (including when we locked ourselves out) 🤭. As mentioned, the driveway is long, and rough, but we managed fine. We didn't get a chance, but the lake would be great to explore in kayaks and canoe. Just an incredibly remote, quiet and peaceful spot!
Loved our stay at Sue's place! She is a gem and you can tell this place is special to her. It's very secluded with only 4 other cabins on the lake. The driveway to get to the cabin is an adventure. Hummingbirds and loons galore. Her amenities like the row boat, kayak, and paddle board are a bonus. A fantastic place to get away from this crazy world and spend some time with family. Probably our best hostess ever! Would definitely recommend if you want to get away from everything!
Cabin was awesome with every amenity needed for a comfortable stay. Lake was perfect for kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Make sure to know your directions before getting close. Google maps sent us to the wrong address on the other side of the lake. Mosquitoes were thick, but expected being in the woods of Northern Wisconsin, just bring spray. We definitely recomend the cabin/ property for a nice quite vacation away.
