About this property

Charming Cottage with Beautiful Ocean Views

  • The house is an early 1900's cottage, so much character, but has been completely remodeled with all new appliances and mod-cons. There are two master suites, both with ensuite bathrooms. One has a king bed, 47' flatscreen tv and faces towards the ocean with Catalina views, the bathroom has a lovely stone countertops and tub/shower combo. The second encompases the entire downstairs, approx 700 sf, has a queen bed, sitting area with a 60' flatscreen tv and a *luxurious* new travertine bathroom with shower. Just a 3 block walk to the beautiful Woods Cove Beach, or a 2 block walk to the Laguna Beach Trolley which will take you the 5 minutes to downtown.

Get ready for a major haul up those stairs

Once you get up the 60+ steps you arrive to a quaint cottage with a spectacular view. I must say that the house itself is charming. It is getting to the house that was the issue for me. It read that there were some stairs. It did not say there are 60+ steps with partial railing and not well lit at all. I feel that the owners have let this house go and it was not prepared for guest. Light bulbs were not working. The towels were left over from others. Cob webs everywhere. When I did contact the owner she tried to help via text but we couldn't get the living room tv to work. No big deal but still. The patio/deck was dirty the furniture was torn and dirty. Someone (not us) should have hosed down the furniture and prepared it for guest. This was like climbing Everest and going to a cottage that no one had used in a few years. "The Pole guy"worker said they were going to tear it down and rebuild which I think is an excellent idea. Maybe they will have railings and an easier way to haul groceries and luggage. If you stay here make sure you don't forget anything when you leave because it really stinks if you have to haul up those stair. I would train at the gym before renting here again just so I could make up the so called flight of stairs.

First House

Usually we stay at a hotel on the beach. Mom, Dad and 3 kids. We have been loving our Laguna trips for 5 years now and outgrown the room. Were renting.... As we entered our cottage rental we all kept smiling! The treehouse was perfect! The view of the ocean from many spots in the house,kitchen was very nice and well equipped ,Bathrooms were updated and clean and the best part was the sunset view!! Walked to our favorite beach and downtown regulars. There is a bit of a hike to return home but if you can it is a nice walk. We loved our wonderful space, in our special place...laguna Beach!
