"Comfortable hotel near Cat Ba town, with good views of the bay, and out of sight of the building work in town. We had a one night stay before a boat trip on Lan Ha and Halong Bays. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, effective Aircon, and comfortable bed, although slightly limited choice of nearby restaurants."

"Hai and Chilly were fabulous hosts, communicative and always happy to assist in any way. As it was winter we opted to stay in the village. The family sized room with 2 king beds and bathroom plus your own seating and hammock out the front situated in lovely gardens was a great place to recover after doing the Ha Giang Loop. Basic breakfast is included, lunch and dinner are available with dinners being shared dishes with other guests which gives the opportunity to meet others. You can hire bikes...

"From check-in to check-out, we felt truly special. The boat is relatively new, so everything on board looks spectacular. Our room had a balcony, offering a dreamlike view of Halong Bay. The activities were enjoyable, but it was the staff who really made the experience exceptional. “Cat,” the nickname of the staff member who attended to us at the restaurant, stood out in particular. The amenities on the boat were incredible from the pool to the playrooms and gym, everything exceeded expectations."

The Vietnamese tea service hosted by Alex was a great experience and very insightful. "Good value for money, staff were great, food was plentiful and fresh, rooms could do with a spruce up but comfortable bed and had own bathroom/toilet. Crew were really helpful and they made the trip fun for all passengers. Squid fishing was fun and making Vietnamese spring rolls. Disappointing to see so much trash in the sea, although this is out of control of this particular cruise boat."
