You can’t hear noise from the bar which is great. Depending on which room you have (we’ve stayed twice) you can hear through the walls - we could hear cleaners in the morning. The manager kindly sent on lost property which we were grateful for.

My experience was terrible. Where do i begin there was so many errors. I booked my stay a month ahead and they rang me up the day before to tell me that expedia hadnt allocated a room for me it turns out that the hotel booking system kicked me out of the room and booked it out to someone else. I was very angry as you can imagine being told the day before I'm due to stay that i have no room. They then rang me back quite late on that day telling me i now have a room which was good as i was going to a party in the room upstairs.Upon arrival next day thinking they would go that extra mile but no they showed us to a totally different room that was not what i had paid for i was extremelly angry again to be told it was a mistake and showed us to the room i had booked. The room was ok furniture was a bit tatty and the bed was not that comfy very soft. The bathroom was new and was the best part of the stay. They did offer us free breakfast but only after complaining the second time. We sat down for breakfast and waited an hour to be told again that we had been forgotten and blamed it on the system even though they new they had only given us a cuppa and no breakfast. The customer service is non existant so dont expect any. Would i stay here again well im sure you know the answer to that absolutly not. I've never stayed anywhere like it and i wouldn't recommemd you do either unless you eant to be forgotten 😆
The Borough Hotel is a best choice to stay in Lancaster, whether on business or visiting the historic city of Lancaster out of interest. Centrally situated, the Georgian Hotel has a very good restaurant, although the breakfast included offer is not available for third party bookings, such as through Expedia. Still, the very good breakfasts on offer in the Restaurant are not very expensive. The staff are lovely and most helpful. Lancaster is a student city and the young people enhance the vibrant live music availability in the local hostelries of the city. Everything is in easy walking distance, making Lancaster an excellent choice for a short break for the not so young as well as those who also like to potter about the numerous shops and eateries in the commercial streets and arcades adorning the city centre. Of some note is the impressive Georgian architecture which adorns much of the City. Good choice all round.
A slight problem with the laundry meant that we had to wait until 7.30pm for our bed to be fully made up, however the room was lovely and the homemade shortbread added a nice touch. The bathroom was gorgeous with a big bath plus a walk-in shower.

Reasonable Pub Accommodation
The Borough is a pub. Accommodation was reasonable. The size of the room was good. minor irritants such as the washhand basin not draining quickly or properly and the shower soap dispenser being poor. The breakfast was excellent and included (inclusion was not mentioned when I booked). Lancaster is a great place to visit.
The hotel is in a great location in the town and within a minute's stroll of the main street. The room was spotless, with a huge walk in shower. The beds were comfortable, however, they were very narrow, but that wasn't an issue. We'd had a long day and went up to our room to relax at 8 pm. Unfortunately there was a 30th birthday party in the room below us and, however much we tried to ignore the noise, it was impossible to even hear our television. Perhaps the hotel should take that into consideration when putting guests in rooms 8 or 9.
Stayed in the townhouse rooms, very spacious and quiet, lovely bathroom. Couple of little niggles such as worn furniture but nothing to detract from stay. Very large comfortable bed. Breakfast was included which we hadn't realised so that was a bonus. Excellent location for Lancaster.
The hotel is well located in the heart of the city, very close to the shopping centre and a ten minute walk from the railway station, but in a nice quiet area. The room I stayed in was spacious, comfortable, warm and clean. The breakfast (which was included in the room rate) was substantial and varied. The best I've had for a very long time. I would certainly stay at the Borough when visiting Lancaster again.
