Friendly staff. Free shuttle to Deadwood the weekend we were there. Could use some updating and a good vacuuming.
We arrived a little early before check-in due to weather and was told no problem. We got our room, which was a little dated, but clean. Most importantly mattress was in good shape, firm, but had some gift to it. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy, which I don’t care for I would’ve rather had meat, cereal, coffee, juice, toast, bagels. Morning staff was just as nice as the afternoon staff yesterday. It was a good stay.
The bed was comfortable, and there was strong shower pressure with plenty of hot water. The hot tub was very hot. We had an issue with the dryer not drying properly, but Chris made sure it got dried. The room wasn't cleaned while we were there; however, any issues we had, Chris managed and handled whatever came up. He definitely cares about customer satisfaction. There's a bar near the main lobby, and Chris also managed that, making sure to keep up with our rowdy group, from playing music to impromptu karaoke. Great place for the price. There was also a shuttle you can request to take you to and from downtown Deadwood at no extra cost.

There was a jacuzzi tub in our room . I was happily surprised by that until we found out it didn't work. The hot tubs outside were great. Other than the jacuzzi not working the stay was outstanding! Would absolutly stay here again. The rate was great as well.
Very dirty. The hot tubs would make you vomit. Breakfast was a joke. Don’t even look in the cupboards for a napkin. There was either like toast crumbs or rodent droppings.
Had to leave a day early and couldn’t get anyone to discuss a refund. Expedia sent an e-mail but the address to talk to someone about it didn’t work.
We did a quick stay on the way to rapid city. We liked that it was in walking distance to necessities. The staff was friendly, rooms clean. Worth it for the price.
Rooms was very and staff was very helpful and friendly

The price was discounted, so that needs to be taken into consideration. That being said, the property is vastlly understaffed as far as cleaning the rooms are concerned. They were still hard at work late in the afternoon, trying to get the rooms cleaned.
Two of the three hot tubs were not working properly, but the one that did work, was quite comfortable.
The breakfast fare was standard -- just a step above a "little Debbie and glass of Tang". We were definitely left to our own devices, as the person on staff was not at his station. When anyone called the front desk to get help checking out, they were advised to just leave the key on the counter. We were made to feel like a huge problem if we wanted a copy of our receipt, and he had to come out to the counter. Again, perhaps, a sign they were under staffed, or staff was not well trained.
Location is the one thing this location has going for it, in its proximity to the great tourist town of Deadwood!
I gave 4 out of 5 for cleanliness and property condition but it looks like new owners and they are working hard at updates. For the price and with breakfast, that included eggs and breakfast, biscuits and gravy and coffee. It was a great deal. The room was quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Hot tub was great on a cold day. They have a lounge in the hotel with minimal items. Grocery store does have more options, as your room also has a fridge and microwave.
The bathroom lights did not work. The flush was not working. I had to call multiple times to the staff.
The staff was responsive for my complaints though and tried to solve the issues
There is no pool they have hot tubs. Clean room still room for improvements more bath towels and wash clothes air conditioning filters need to be cleaned, if they continue to use half pillows maybe add an extra one to each bed instead of 3. Quiet and close to Deadwood. Breakfast is ok gravy has no sausage but you eggs biscuits and gravy waffles and waffles. Pop machine on Second floor out of drinks. Overall nice place to stay for the money very reasonable.
The staff was super friendly.
This hotel has great potential at being a great hotel but it needs a staff to do some deep cleaning, and maintenance on regular basis.

I hear it is under new ownership and the last owners did a great job of keeping it clean, new owners must still be getting that figured out. It would work in a pinch, but not choosing this hotel again.
