About this property
On Twisted Sisters Loop, New Tiny Cabin w/ Deck & River Frontage, Pet Friendly!
Come and unwind in the quiet Frio Canyon and watch the sunrise over the hills while you sip your coffee. Take a picnic lunch down and cool off in the Frio River at our private river frontage. Grill some burgers and dine al fresco. Sit outside and experience some of the darkest skies in Texas - you’ll even see the Milky Way most nights, and roast marshmallows over the fire pit.
-Sleeps 2 -Private river frontage for the property -Fire pit and firewood included -Charcoal grill with charcoal and lighter fluid provided -Peace and quiet -Lots of stars -The Twisted Sisters Loop is a connecting trio of Texas county roads, Ranch-to-Market Roads (RM) 335, 336, and 337, that form a 100-mile loop around some of the prettiest country Texas has to offer.
The new Frio River Bunkhouse is a tiny cabin perfect for either a one person retreat or couple’s getaway. At a cozy 304 square feet this nook of a cabin has everything you need for a rejuvenating experience in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The Bunkhouse sleeps 2 in a queen-sized bed and offers a bathroom/shower combo. The living area (full sofa & smart TV) and kitchenette/dining peninsula offer everything you need for a quick weekend or extended visit.
Outside you’ll find a couple of Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, a Weber charcoal grill, and a picnic table under the trees for dining al fresco.
Our 5-acre property features 3 individual cabins. You may see your neighbors, but each cabin enjoys plenty of space. If you're interested in renting the entire property for a family or friends gathering, you can send an inquiry through the Vrbo platform.
Our spot on the Frio River is perfect for relaxing, not too deep, and offers several swimming ‘holes’. Park your chairs and canopy in the river and kick back with a cold drink.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, our private stretch of river is enjoyed only by surrounding landowners and their guests - there are no tubers passing through.
Wanting more of an active getaway? Head down to Garner State Park for some stand up paddle boarding, hiking up Old Baldy (elevation 1840ft), and stay for the storied dance that’s happened nightly during summer months since the 1940s. Or head over to Lost Maples for excellent hiking with trails for every level of hiker, and where in the fall you can check out the prehistoric Maple trees and their gorgeous fall foliage.
-Garner State Park - 19 miles -Lost Maples State Natural Area - 29 miles -Neal's Dining Room - 27 miles -Devil's Sinkhole State Natural Area - 38 miles -ConCan, Texas - 27 miles -City of Leakey - 9 miles -The Sisters are a connecting trio of Texas county roads, Ranch-to-Market Roads (RM) 335, 336, and 337, that form a 100-mile loop around some of the prettiest country Texas has to offer.
Please note our section of the river here is not suitable for tubing or kayaking, but if you’d like to go, both Leakey and Concan offer several river outfitters. We recommend Happy Hollow just south of Leakey and Andy’s on River Road in Concan where you can rent tubes and kayaks and enjoy 2-way shuttle service.
Not a summer outdoors person? We still have some thing for you. Leaf watchers love us in the fall and snowbirds love to use our cabins as a getaway in the winter. Our area is also great for birders as birds and monarch butterflies migrate through our area year round.
A beautiful destination anytime of year!

My husband and I went for a nice little getaway. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. I would stay here again and I would recommend to others.
My husband and i came to ride the 3 twisted sister's and just enjoy the peace and quiet. The cabin was very accommodating. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need down to the seasonings and smores by the campfire. Will definitely stay again!
My wife and loved our time here! Quiet neighborhood, lots of birds, the nearby river access was amazing and nice to be able to wade in.
This was perfect for my wife and I to have time to get away together.
We would most certainly come back again!
I rented the cabin for a couples getaway and our friends rented the other cabin on the property. This was the perfect set up to for us. We were able to hang out all day, and each couple was able to retire to their own cabin at night. We brought our two dogs and they loved it!
The wife and I were able to get away for a couple of days and relax. The cabin was just the right size for two people and the view, especially at night, was simply beautiful. I’m sure we’ll be back.
Christy was very helpful with ideas of where to go, eat, or to do. Very sweet and quick to answer. Wanted to make our stay the best it could be. And it was. Cabin was just as pictured. Very clean, had all we needed, was comfortable and close to anywhere we were going. Just a very pleasant stay.

The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. It is small but we knew this before coming. If you're coming for "waterfront" scenes, this is not for you.
Wanted to get away to a pet friendly location. River was very low (not the fault of the Host) but it was a nice getaway. Will come back again when the river is closer to normal flow.
We loved every minute! The cabin is adorable and so cozy. There is a cabin right next door if you have friends that want to go as well. The river is right across the street with the most perfect river spot for hanging out. Beautiful views of the hills from the deck and windows. Everything was clean and comfortable. I didn’t want to leave!
My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The place is located just off a fork of the Frio River, so there is private river access. It is perfect if you do not want to deal with the crowds at the parks. The cabin itself is charming and cozy, and was perfect for the two of us. The owner was easy to contact for anything and if we had any questions. I recommend staying here if you are wanting to get away from the big cities and in need of a quiet time in the country.
My wife and I dropped our kids at a camp close by and wanted to have a couple nights of just us enjoying the frio region and all it has to offer. Water was low on all parts of the Frio, but having water access across the street was great!! Cabin was charming, quiet, and had all the needed amenities. The host was incredibly responsive and communicated well throughout our stay and was very accommodative to our request and needs ..
