The first night we slept in a clean room but the mattress was defective as the top layer of foam was delaminating from the rest of the mattress. This caused a folded, bumpy area, very uncomfortable to sleep on. The next morning we requested a different room, and the staff said it would be done upon our return that evening. Before moving all of our clothing into the new room, we looked at the mattress and it had the same problem, if not worse. We again requested a different room which required housekeeping to go in annd inspect the mattress before we were moved in. Fortunately, this mattress must have been much newer and was more comfortable.
It appears this Marriott is not routinely inspecting its mattresses for obsolescence or defects. FYI: there is no free coffee in the morning or a free breakfast. As we were in a hurry the final morning, I purchased 2 coffees and one bagel. The total was $17.50!
