Leicester visit
Hotel is being renovated at moment so rooms are basic but was in right location to visit o2 academy .
Check in guy was lovely, car park aswell so suited our needs for one night.
Service was good, the hotel is in the process of being worked on, the tiles and floor weren’t fixed or flat the door wouldn’t close properly and there were lights that didn’t work hopefully they get this all fixed soon
The room was ok, nice and warm very basic. But it was a cheap stsy. Only one glass, and not much milk for tea and coffee.
Bed comfortable. The stairwell going up to the room was hard work. No lift.
Ok for a night. I would not stay again.
I mainly chose it for its proximity to Leicester University, where I needed to be. Reasonable price, basic but satisfactory, certainly for the one night I stayed.
It's an old building so the plumbing sounds a bit antiquated!
The location of the hotel was really good for the university where we were visiting. The room was very dirty and decor very tired and worn with bits of wall hanging off and towel rail was broken. The service was adequate but were disinterested in us when we arrived and when we left.
No heating, water off when arrived, the wardrobe was 4pieces of chipboard with a rail, mould in bathroom plus floor tiles missing old bar of soap on the floor by sink,
Draws not sure if I touched them they would stay standing, waking up cold was no fun, there was washing drying on landing

Basic, not far from centre
To be fair, the condition of the room and state of the hotel is reflected in the price, so that is fair enough.
The only issue I had, was that on two of my three nights, there was a huge amount of noise from other guests, in and out of their rooms, all night, leading to two very poor quality nights, sleep wise.
The hotel is basic, room very much in need of tlc, although shower was working, and was clean.
The curtains were falling down. There were stains on the stair carpets. Hotel smelt of cigarette smoke and weed.
Looked as if it is being used as a halfway house for the druggies and homeless.
I WOULD NOT stay here or recommend it.
Called Expedia asking for a refund as i felt unsafe. They say they called the hotel, i was stood by the phone. It did NOT ring. I believe they lied and now refuse my refund.
This place should not be on their web page for the safety of their customers.
Terrible. We arrived and room was freezing, staff said they would make sure it was warm when we came back. Still hasn’t been touched at 01:30. Came with a small heater had to sleep with clothes on. Big damp patch on ceiling, bathroom cold and damp with radiator hanging off.
Bed wasn’t comfy, only had 1 pillow so didn’t get a decent nights sleep. Window was open and it was too far out for me to close. Wardrobe and desk table was broken, cleaning lady came round to the round while I was still in there
I arrived and had to go back to reception for toilet paper because none was in my room.
I could barely get in to the shower as the doors only opened to about 50cm and we're far too narrow for anyone to fit in.
Wish I hadn't as once I was in there was no hot water - it worked in the sink.
The staff were helpful but overall it was not good
The room was filthy the bed was old and worn the mattress was all wavey from being old the loo roll holder was hanging iff the wall the shower door handle was hanging off. The extractor fan wa filthy the ekectric heater was broken the mirror in the room was broken there where hokes in the wall behind the door wall paper torn and had parts missing... no hot water and the sink was blocked... avoid at all costs
It seems this hotel has been claiming the "sorry we're renovating" story for 3 years now and that doesn't ring true to me. Whilst my room was clean it needs complete refurbishment with missing floor tiles in the bathroom, missing drawer in desk and for goodness sake, anaglypta on the walls! Worst was the mattress which gave no support so I had a dreadful nights rest.
The building in general is need of some serious renovations and upgrade. First of all rooms are pretty inaccessible to people with disabilities and the stairs themselves have loose carpet. The rooms stink of smoke, are unclean and lack basic facilities such as a shower head placed at head height. We just couldn't stay at this hotel and demanded a refund which I was glad that the staff helped us with straight away - this was about the only positive from the experience.

A lovely, warm welcome from Vijay... A beautiful Victorian guest house, under renovation (this did not interupt my stay). The room was clean, very comfortable bed, furniture was purposeful, excellent hot shower. Breakfast is not offered at the time of writing this review.
One minor glitch with an over powering and nauseating smell of cigarettes in the bathroom.... Staff were very keen to rectify with air freshner, but despite keeping the window open all day and night, the smell didn't disappear - No fault of the staff at all.
I had a very good night's sleep... I would visit again... I recommend a visit to the museum and sampling the range of culinary delights in the London Road restaurants..... 😀 😋
This property had no heat (40F outside) and was extremely cold. Mildew in shower and mold on ceiling and window frames. Loose carpeting tripped wife at top of stairs. Staff failed to explain that the heat wasn’t working. Also, room not as described. Supposed to be two bedrooms with three beds but was one tiny room with two beds. Was not offered compensation and wanted to charge more for additional space.
The location was spot on I needed to be near where I was going the next morning but in the morning at 8:00 the shower only gave out cold water (although there was still hot water in the hand basin tap) Nowhere convenient to put anything down while in or on the bed (no bedside table) The bed was comfortable and the room was if anything too warm

Fine for the price.
Being renovated which is desperately required. However, it was clean and beds were comfortable. It was also quiet.
For the price, i was quite happy.
