"They say you get what you pay for, but in this case the little I paid was still too much. Damp, moldy, smelly basement apartment. Internet didn’t work. TV didn’t work. Fridge didn’t work. Even the soap was empty and the battery operated bedside lamp didn’t work either. Won’t stay here again. Lerici is nice tho. Check out the cute free local beach with a shower in San Terenzio (next town up, walkable)."

"The place was excellent. Great views. Only two issues...1) The balcony would have been amazing, but we had no key to access it. 2) I don't believe it was mentioned, but a car is a must if you stay here. We had to find a cab to get into the town. Getting to a bus is a 15 minute, extremely dangerous walk on a narrow windy road with no shoulder. I'd still stay again, but I'd be sure to get my own transportation."

"Locanda Valeria is a really lovely and hidden away place. Here are some things to note to manage expectations: You should only stay at this place if you lan on having a car and driving. Otherwise you will have to either walk down to train (which takes over an hour) or hire a cab company. The roads are very narrow. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful and the rooms are beautifully restored and very, very clean. Would stay here again."

"The location was superb the view from each room was like a postcard. The staff was excellent especially Alberto who found anything we needed from ice cubes to an ironing board. The rooms were clean but lacked mini fridges in the room, coffee and tea, suitcase stands, The view. Unlike no other. I would return"

Hotel is perfectly situated on the beachfront and the staff from reception to dining and housekeeping are all very friendly and helpful and professional. "This is a super unique place to stay with an amazing view. The breakfast was definitely a highlight for us along with the staff. There is a beach near the property however it is a long walk and a super steep hill. There are no towels or chairs unless you purchase them. There is also no dinner location so without a car it is challenging to get dinner. There is a bus stop near the property but we ended up transporting via taxi. We were able to get to La Spezia train station and Marina in 15-20 minutes. The people are very accommodating and helped us with transportation and were always able to get a taxi for us. Would recommend if you do not mind being a ways out of the city."
