It’s clear that Charlie puts a lot of love and care into being a host! He had everything we could possibly need! Our favorite part was the deck where you could sit and observe all the lovely sites and sounds of wide life on a mash. We were comfortable and happy! Thanks, Charlie!

Great Stay

Stayed one night and really enjoyed staying at Charlie's place. Very accommodating, easy to talk to and we could come and go as we pleased. View from the 2nd floor suite was very nice and bed was comfortable. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get a way for a couple nights and enjoy the RI countryside.

This was a phenomenal B&B to stay in Little Compton. Most gracious hosts. Quiet. Close to water and salt marsh. Delicious breakfast. Would stay there again.

Get away to Rhode Island

This is a jewel at a great rate. My wife and I were able to do everything we had planned to do in the area from this location with comfort and ease. Charley was a great host who took good care of us and the living space was most agreeable and spacious.

Bird paradise with a cool breeze

The Best!

Wonderful property, the hosts go above and beyond! It is the loveliest place with many extras for comfort, convenience and beauty. It is spacious and immaculate, the host is gracious, the bed perfect and the view of the river and Aquidneck Island stunning. The fruit and homemade muffins for breakfast were an added treat. They thought of everything!

Amazing location & beautiful space

This place is a lucky find. We loved opening the French doors to feel the ocean air & to watch & listen to the birds, with the inlet just beyond. We were a quick drive from other beaches, great food, & nature conservancies. Charlie was a wonderful host — making sure we had what we needed each day, while also giving us space and privacy. We appreciated the binoculars, local info, snacks, & fresh fruit Charlie provided. I worked from ‘home’ — plenty of outlets & fast internet.

Relaxing retreat!

My friend and I wanted to get away for a relaxing time close to nature and beaches. The suite extremely clean and comfortable with beautiful views. Charle was the ultimate host providing coffee, fresh fruit and breakfast staples every morning and ice when we requested it. Charlie even shipped my expensive shampoo and conditioner that I had left in the shower back to me at his expense! I look forward to my next stay! Debbie from CT

A Great Stay!!

We stayed at Charlie and Sue's rental for 5 nights and had a fabulous stay! We highly recommend it. The property - semi-private entrance then up a flight of stairs. We had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves. The living area was large and nicely decorated with a lovely breakfast area, comfy living space and a private deck overlooking a very beautiful salt marsh (no bugs!) The bedroom had a good queen bed, ac, and a nice sitting area. The bathroom was a nice size. Everything was immaculate!! Charlie was a great host (Sue was out of town). He had a wealth of knowledge of the area and went out of his way to help us. But the best was the really excellent "continental" breakfasts he brought up to the room - homemade muffins, outstanding fruit salads!! And the frig was always stocked with juice and water. This was a great location - we were 35 mins from Newport and could spend the day there and come back to the peaceful view off the deck. Lots of other things to do (visit the Wilbur House, check out Gooseberry Neck Beach, etc). Very good restaurants within a mile or so and a market in Little Compton that makes sandwiches and has most of your basic needs. And if you are birders like us, with the help of a scope, you can see about 30 species of birds (we even saw an Oyster Catcher right off the deck and this wasn't even migration)!! We are looking forward to the day we return to this great place!! .

Incredible spot for birdwatching

Amazing warblers and so many great walking trails in this area, in forest and on the shore. Really gorgeous views from the second floor suite, which overlooks a marsh area. The suite is spacious and beautifully furnished, with many thoughtful touches that make it a really special place to stay. The suite is open to a landing with stairs that lead to the house below, but Charlie is very quiet and friendly, and this was no problem during our stay. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

Peaceful Oasis

This property is beautifully maintained, a peaceful oasis off the beaten path! Charlie is so accommodating providing all of the comforts of home. Hot coffee, serene views and a bird sanctuary are just a few of our favorites! A beautiful local winery nearby with Lobster Rolls and gorgeous farm! And stop by Coastal Roasters for scones and coffee on the water! Highly recommend this getaway! We look forward to visiting again!

Perfect getaway

We had a lovely stay. The view was beautiful, and bed extra comfy! We enjoyed your drive into newport and was nice to get off the beaten path and stay somewhere new. The cutest coffee shop right down the street - Groundswell. Would stay here again!

This property has a large suite on the top floor of a big house overlooking a bird/wildlife sanctuary. We lost count of how many egrets and herons we saw! The suite is very comfortable and felt like having our own apartment, with a bedroom, bathroom, and living/dining area. The proprietor, Charlie, was very friendly and accommodating! The surrounding area is a mix of shore, rural, and residential, and within easy access to beaches and walks. This was the ideal spot for our short getaway, and if we come back to the area, this will be our first call for a reservation!

Wonderful!

We loved staying in Charlie Sherman’s beautiful accommodation! It was spotless, light, airy and comfortable. The furnishings were lovely, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage for our belongings. Sitting on the small deck after a day of bicycling was paradise! My husband and I enjoyed the sunset each night. Charlie is a perfect host and has thought of every detail! It is so nice to have the continental breakfast including fresh fruit. He had the coffee ready to brew each day, all i had to do was push a button! He responded immediately to all my texts, and answered every question I had. He was warm and welcoming, but he also respected our privacy. The location is ideal, such a quiet spot but close to restaurants, cafes, and the beach! It is ideal bicycling territory, my husband and I loved the countryside with many farms, beautiful stone walls and sheep! Riding along the ocean was breathtaking! Thank you Charlie for the exceptional getaway! We loved every second!

Peace and Quiet
