"All the rooms named after birds . Makes a change from numbers. They also changed rooms for me to accommodate my disabled wife. Staff were very helpful and very polite. Nothing was too much trouble."

"The rooms were compact but felt spacious due to excellent layout. Kitchen was thoughtfully supplied, including things often omitted from such arrangements (such as including salt and pepper, and paper towels) The staff was helpful and courteous. The only 'fly in the ointment ' was that we found the temperature in the shower to be extremely hard to set and unstable (but eventually workable)."

"My stay here after the refurbishment was such a surprise! The decor is lovely and has given me inspiration for my own home. The staff were the right amount of attentiveness, the food was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. The room was fresh and new and I loved the design. The bed was comfortable and courtyard location was so quiet. I am already looking for dates to book again! "

"Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. "
