The Castle is surrounded by terraced olive groves overlooking the valley, from the swimming pool to the ancient medieval monastery of Mammoli which overlooks the hill itself.
During its restoration, the remains of the ancient medieval site were found consisting of two mullioned windows set in what were the ancient cellars that once contained the freshly pressed oil which was a precious and valuable asset.
